To get the balls to quit my corporate job to work independently, I listened to a lot of motivational material. I'd often play speeches all day to give me the confidence and momentum for the first leap of faith to quit, and then to make sure I stayed "pissed off for greatness" (Ray Lewis). These videos helped me consciously and unconsciously, and even helped me make a lot of money by pushing me beyond what was "enough work" to get "lucky".
From experience, I believe that luck is when opportunity meets preparation. Failure is not an option, so keeping a positive and aggressive attitude is paramount.
I wrote down many quotes and pinned the within my business files to keep me driven. Here are a few to spark some motivation.

This was pivotal for me when approaching my boss at work to resign. It gave me something short and powerful to focus on to take the final step toward complete independence and freedom. With planning and preparation, it's ok to give up who you were, if you're confidence you can become a better person by doing so.

This is how I live my life. I conformed until I got to college because I didn't know any better, and immediately realized how much more fulfilling life was when I strove to do exactly what everyone else wasn't doing.

I love this brazen approach. I pasted in a transcript of my favorite part. I've used this for motivation time after time and love hearing it again to bring me back to my roots. When it comes down to success, it's either something I'm going to obtain or something I'm going to make excuses for to not obtain. It's that simple. Just like doing 70+ consecutive days of my 100+ rep fitness challenge on Steemit, there are no excuses.

This is one of the best motivational scenes ever that gets me fired up every time. There were so many days when I was tired, but hearing this started the fire to get up and keep moving forward. The quote starts at 1:25.
Right now, I'm pissed off to get more Steem Power. Enough with the gaming and politics. All of my SP is earned from scratch and will always be since that is the commitment I made early on. It's a long game and I'm not going anywhere.

I liked this one a lot. Especially the part about executing no matter how you're feeling. I recognize that I tend to get a little too comfortable perhaps, and only execute when I have energy. I'm inspired to try and push myself harder. New perspective for me.
