🌱 Home Hydroponics Gardening ~ Seed Starting Update

in #gardening7 years ago (edited)

Hello my fellow gardening enthusiasts. I wanted to give a quick update on the seeds I started last week. Starting my seeds indoors now will ensure we have mature plants producing sustainable food by the beginning of March that will carry us into early Summer.

Everything is going along as expected. The cucumbers were the first to germinate and sprout as usual. Followed by one of the cantaloupe plants, the others are just starting to break from the seeds today.

The tomatoes sprouted up 2 days after the cucumbers and are getting established. The peppers are just starting to break out of the seeds today, you can just make out the curved stem of one of them in the right front rockwool cube below.

I currently working on a modification for our backyard wrap-around bar I built a year back, the new air conditional that was installed is much taller than the old one so I needed to build an upper bar shelf to hide it. I will have pictures of that and the new garden system I am building out front soon.

EDIT: I totally forgot to put the date with the photos above, so here is one to record the date.

Wow, that was quick for the seeds to sprout! It's been bitter cold here in Michigan. Can't wait for the spring and being able to plant and harvest my garden.

Yeah they do come up fast in the BioDome under the LEDs. It's been only 7 days. I totally forgot to put a paper with the date on it when I took the pictures to log that. I need to go do that real quick and add that photo to the post :-)

Those seedlings are looking nice and healthy:) I hope they do well for you

Thank you :-) I will continue to post as I go along and get them out to the garden.

Good post. Its good research and information for the persons who are involved in agriculture. Thanks for sharing such valuable post.

Wow! It looks healthy. I suggest you to use crushed egg shells especially for tomatoes plants while planting. It can provide extra calcium. :)
