Ben '10' Nguyen came on to the scene in mid 2015, and his notoriety was already granted with his win over the long hated 'Jackal'.. a bully of a man who's been in trouble with the MMA community for years. Ben 10 is a very fan friendly fighter, and he makes his return this Saturday.

Powerful hands and skillful karateka movement are what Ben brings to the table. He is a solid grappler, and in transition he has been able to hold his own. A loss to the more experienced Louis Smolka taught Ben very valuable lessons, and we can surely see him more skilled on the floor.

His upcoming opponent in Jussier Formiga is one of the best grappler's in the flyweight division.. in fact he is just one of UFC's top 'bjj' players period. If styles tell us anything, the grappler will always prevail over the striker... but Ben has overcome adversity before, so we may see it again.

Tim Elliot is quite the sophisticated grappler, and Ben was able to punish him thoroughly on the feet before finishing him with a submission of his own. Ben is not necessarily a submission artist, but if he has the opponent hurt, he will surely be able to finish from anywhere.

I see this fight playing out as youthful strength vs. experienced technique. Ben knows he can't fight in Formiga's wheelhouse because it will be a long night of trying to escape rear naked chokes all night. Formiga can backpack the best of them, and the threat of submission is always present.

Nguyen will have his home country's people cheering him on, and he seems to do quite well at home. Formiga is a seasoned veteran but has been in some wars himself, so let's see if Ben can capitalize on his youth being a factor. This will be a fun one down South!
