Jack Wilshere produced a man of the match performance and scored his first Arsenal goal in over two years years as Arsenal refinished their Europa League group stage with an emphatic 6-0 win against BATE Borisov.
Wilshere, who has only been used as a bit part player this season for Arsenal since his return from Bournemouth, is hoping for regular football with the World Cup coming up next year and his performance last night would have delighted Arsene Wenger.
His polished performance was rewarded with a goal just before half tme. A powerful finish just before half-time made it 3-0, after Mathieu Debuchy and Theo Walcott had given Arsenal a commanding lead, and the Gunners didn’t let up in the second half.

Wilshere put in a perfect performance
An own goal from BATE defender Denis Polyakov was Arsenal’s fourth, and then Olivier Giroud scored from the penalty spot before Mohamed Elneny made it 6-0 and rounded off a perfect night for Arsenal.
Arsene Wenger fielded a totally changed team from Saturday's 3-1 defeat to Manchester United, and the Gunners dominated from the start. Debuchny scored the first goal on 11 minutes as he struck a cie rising shot into the roof of the net.
Arsenal continued to pour forward and should have scored through Walcott, but he was denied by BATE keeper Scherbitsky, but Walcott did score with his next chance just 8 minutes before the break. Danny Welbeck layed the ball for Walcott who slotted the ball in to make it 2-0.

Debuchy set Arsenal on their way
Walcott combined Wilshire for Arsenal's third goal two minutes before the break. Walcott passed to Wilshere who drilled a diagonal shot past Scherbitsky, and it was the least Arsenal deserved.
And it was no less than Wilshere's performance deserved either. He was at the heart of everything including the fourth goal. Again he played the ball to Walcott who crossed the ball and unfortunately for BATE defender Polyakov, the ball hit him and went in.
Arsenal were rampant and keeping BATE keeper Scherbitsky busy. And although he made a few good saves he was next facing a penalty after Walcott was fouled. Giroud made no mistake with a retaken penalty to make it 5-0.
Arsene Wenger introduced some of the youth system as Reiss Nelson, Eddie Nketiah and Joe Willock were introduced in the closing stages, but it was Elneny who capped a perfect night for the home crowd, sending a stunning effort into the net from Wilshere's pass.

Once upon a time, WIlshere was build as Fabregas Successor. It's kind of sad to see him in the reserve team.
Wilshere is a quality player, he just been unlucky with injuries. That would affect the flow of any development in any profession.
Great to see Jack score again. I love him. His passion, his heart, and his willing to win. I hope he can stay injury free.
Yeah, it's good to see him perform well.
He needs to step up as a midfielder particularly to compete with Aaron ramsey , Santi Cazorla ( if he is fit again), Elneny and so forth
Yeah, his potential is huge but he's a bit fragile.
You got it bro. A lot of the players needs to learn how CR7 take care of his body through diet and stuff.. His record of injuries are like minor. I like Wilshere but when he is up there he tends to get injured.
I doubt his injuries are down to his diet (although does play a huge part in your health and fitness). Some people are just injury prone. He's playing a physical game and his body can't take it like most other footballers.
That is the major problem he has - fragility. He needs to work more on himself so as to be consistent and injury free. He is a great player and he demonstrates that in the game
I made my own player rating post...feel free to comment.
Ok, thanks.
Arsenal was just so unstoppable.
