Steem is no longer decentralised and may steal your funds. Use Hive instead.

My biggest following on any social media site I have gotten,is definitely the few I managed to scrape up here on steemit :D

Well I hope they support you. It's quality, not quantity that really matters

Definitely! Too many empty followers , andupvotes here on steemit...I guess I can say that these bots and follow for follow techniques are fooling most of us

YouTube by far because I create content there that helps people. Why do you think G+ failed? Just too late to the party?

That could be part of it. They didn't really sell it well. People will go where their friends are. Google do not win at everything

Wow you had 5000 on Tsu? That's a huge number mate! In my first FB account I had 2500 followers then I opened a new one last year with 800 followers, but since I joined Steemit, I am no more opening FB at all!
Here on Steemit I've reached +500 in less than 2 months! How you find the achievement so far @steevc?

As Tsu gained millions of users it was fairly easy to get thousands of followers who hoped you would follow them back. Very few actually engaged with me. We may see that happen here too. It would not be too hard to work out how many of my followers comment or vote. Those are the ones I care about. I'm still very happy with Steemit. The spam level is pretty low so far

I've been thinking of making a tool for checking how many real followers people have who comment/vote too, and also how many people they follow, they ever vote/comment on, to help tidy feeds. I find trying to keep my feed under control is pretty difficult at the moment.

There's all sorts of data you can extract here. Would be very interesting to anyone trying SEO.

Yes, it's a digital treasure trove isn't it!

I feel it is already happening here too! As I said I got +500 followers and I post only once per day! I am getting like 25 votes/views on it, I don't count the bot votes. From the +500 I am just wondering how many are still active!

We know most are not reading what we write, but we can hope to get some engagement. There's only so many posts a person can read each day

You are absolutely right man! But I just can't understand why follow someone and don't engage at all, better don't follow!

Cheers to having more followers here!
oh you're not the guy in the SCC but the singing guy :)

I do the open mic now and then :)

You are the first person I've heard of in the last five years who uses Google Plus. I was so excited about it when it was first coming out, but it just failed to gain any traction and now I get annoyed whenever I click on the wrong spot of a Google app and get shuttled to G+.

LOL! There are people active on there. It depends what circles you move in

Congrats on your Steemit success.. I was thinking of using my google plus again.. I have not used it in years.. some cool stuff comes through there... then there is that twitter account.. only used a month a couple of years ago.. I think if we use them we can promote Steemit.. :)

I use the others to promote Steemit. A lot of people still haven't heard of it.

When I was tsu, there were about 40,000 followers.
However, tsu disappeared and it became zero in a moment.
I hope Steemit will last long.

Steemit is harder to shut down, so I hope it can continue for many years and you will be successful here too

Thanks for your comment^^

I have had a Google+ account for ages now and can't even remember the last time i used it

I was on G+ since near inception. I haven't used the platform more than a handful of times in the past few years, but at one time I had somewhere around 17k followers. I had some design projects that brought lots of eyes.
I think I've posted there a couple times the past 4 years. Just checked my g+, somehow I still have 6,733 followers.
Miss those days, but time to make new..
I'm off to a slow start here on Steemit, but I'm sure that'll change in due time. Got many great things awaiting in the wings!! Steem On @Steevc 🚀

That's a big following, but was it useful? It is less active there than before, but I still visit daily

Well, it was very useful as a graphic artist - my days before a full time father of two toddlers and a business to run 😋. I had some great opportunities that were generated from my google plus days! I worked for some big companies and even worked with some Google related projects. I met some incredible people, many whom have since moved on to other platforms. I had many great things that were derived from my activity there on G+.

I left my g+ after my son was born. He required open heart surgery at 6 days old and two additional surgeries since, so that's been my focus entirely for the past few years. He is almost 4, healthy and thriving now with a little sister (age 2). I walked away from my business, my professional network, and I never once looked back. It can all be rebuilt again. Not often do we get a chance to nurture life and share that time with those we love - so I figured I started once, I can start again some day. That day has come. Time to rebuild.
I still maintain contact with those special folks that I've met over the years, @finnian has been one of them since the early days of G+ for me. In fact, he is the sole reason for my presence here. He not only invited me here, he inspired me to pick up what I'd put off when I left G+. I'm so glad to have some really awesome people around me because Steemit has already become a great outlet for me. I deeply need Steemit to satiate my creative appetite.

I'm not on FB and G+ changed so much during my absence that I was virtually lost upon return. I just couldn't figure out the communities and collections thing - seems to help everything get lost in the sauce. I can say that the very early days of G+ - was the best time to find some brilliant people. I believe that is the case here on Steemit. It is hard to get so much talent in one place! I'm loving it here @steevc

Wow, you went through some difficult times. It can be hard to start again on-line as you need to reconnect with people. We are all spread across lots of social sites and they don't always overlap. Only a few close friends have come to Steemit so far, but I hope others will in time

We all go through difficult times, buddy. There are always those that have it better, but also many that have it worse. I'm blessed that all has worked out the way it has. And yes, it can be very difficult to return to social media after a hiatus! I have found it quite challenging to return to the same level - it took a long time! Thankfully, I kept contact with several great people over the years and the value of that might actually outweigh the rest. Like you mentioned: Quality, not Quantity. A few quality people can make rebuilding much easier and enjoyable - that's where I'm at. I've helped many people in my days and many of them now able to help me. It's a beautiful endeavor and a worthwhile pursuit at that. Haven't forgotten about you either @steevc, sending you some picks this week for that great collection ;) I also found a pretty cool item I received as a gift (guitar related) - it's a mini Fender strat guitar! I found it while digging around for those other picks. Wanna see? I can share a photo here or in chat - just want to be respectful.

I don't mind you sharing the picture here, or do your own post and give us the link

Hopefully you find this as interesting as I did when my wife brought it home years ago..

Added some cherry tomatoes in there for scale 😋

I'll make a post also, but consider this the exclusive sneak preview..haha!()

has a cool stand and case! I owe it a thorough cleaning, but when I found this I thought you might enjoy it @steevc *note: this should 'accordion' into the thread, but if it is a bother I can gladly reduce!

That's cool. I don't have anything like that

I'm not big on social media, so it would have to be Myspace. Haha

I think I had a Myspace account, but never really used it. Whatever happened to it?

FB killed it

Even FB could be toppled. We shall see

MySpace isn't extinct yet..haha I had to open the page to believe it. I still have an account from way back but I think the email I signed up with has been dead for 10 years 😆

Myspace was huge and then for some reason people just switched to FB

I ran away from FB long ago and MySpace is like a music platform now. Lots of good metal bands on there from what I see 😎🤘🏻. Remember Napster..haha!

my biggest following is still steemit. I tried to do my best for some time on youtube, but that really did not pay off.

At least you can combine it with Steemit to make something. Most of my latest videos are just linked here
