Steem is no longer decentralised and may steal your funds. Use Hive instead.

What is your take on these 'World of Photography' contests? Do you consider it bad form to submit tags that trigger these things into giving you an upvote and entering you into competitions?

I've not encountered them on my posts. If they want to give away votes then that's their choice, but spamming the comments all the time is not great. They are just getting to promote whatever they do. I'm sure minnows will take whatever votes they can get, but it probably won't make you much

Seems like a strange tactic. He's probably spending more on the bots than he actually gets from the rewards

He's making even less since I flagged him :)

Seems like a bot... one well worth flagging, IMO

We have to help each other.Very sad that I have 500 followers but they dont upvote me.What should I do?

You need followers who engage. Talk to them in comments. Reward their comments too. I have thousands of followers, but I know most never read my posts. Find people who share your interests. Make Steemit fun for yourself. It's not just about money

Thank you.I will do.

I have a lot less than you but I'm working on getting more!

I was going to report him to Steemcleaners.org, but it looks like someone already did.

Hehe, yeah, I did that when I read your previous post. It became very clear that he was spamming lots and lots of comments from several accounts in order to upvote them to earn a few cents..

No problem. We need people actively reporting such accounts so they can be dealt with. The community is working well on this

people who definitely value and win must be rewarded.
I always value the sharing of people. I'm reading.
besides my native language is not English and I have difficulty in understanding it. I get help from my husband to understand when google translate does not work. Because everything written is important to me. I'm trying to learn something from you guys.
Nevertheless, the number of people who see and reward it is very small. it is good that you have noticed.

My feeling with steemit is that it has the correct mechanisms, but lacks the critical mass. I think once the number of genuine users increases beyond a certain point, selling votes just won't be profitable.

Here's why:

User A posts spam and buys a $1 upvote for $1.

The vote seller is making money from the sale of the vote and some of curation.

If the spam posts gets flagged and makes no money, both the user and the vote seller stand to make losses.

So hit them where it hurts and flag them! They will soon stop, nothing focuses the mind like financial losses

Yes, learn from punishment. Right

Except that the curation is just an added bonus. Vote bots still make from the upfront payment.

But if your posts are getting flagged when you get votes from a botvotes, will you pay again?

I guess it depends on who is flagging. Also, there will be plenty of other people to take their place. The bots always win.

I can't change everyone, but if spammy content comes across my feed. I will flag it like I am an Englishman in someone else's country in 1776

I have seen a lot of people do this. This will only comment on your post and upvote only their own comment. No matter how low the voting power is, people should assist each other to grow

I think we really need to pay attention to these accounts. If we do not do it - their number will only increase! You did the right thing, that you wanted to report it. I think, we should all follow suit!

You can even earn a reward for reporting accounts to Steemcleaners. It's worth doing

I didn't know that, thanks for the info!

Well, nicely said my friend. It's important for us to help everyone on steemit. We should help the minnows to grow and not use steemit for selfishness and not help the community to grow. I have seen some whales too who are not helping and doesn't support the minnows. Good work. Appreciation
