Amazing. I've never really been a fan of Vai but I can't help but admire his abilities...and Patrick's. The thousands and thousands of hours that must go into being that comfortable with the instrument admirable. It is a case that they have become one with the guitar.
Roy Castle was right about the need for dedication.
OMG this is AWESOME. I still Love the Crossroads movie and watch the guitar duel all the time....also used to have a Jem 77, but sold it:((
That is by far one of the best movies ever made.
I've seen this video before. It really gives each and every one of us hope that we can all achieve our own level of greatness musically. Thanks for helping this one make the rounds, it's really inspiring!
Steve Vai was one of my favorite guitarists growing up. That was some incredible playing.
This was an entertaining watch, it would be interesting to see the preceding minutes to see what led to this guitar battle taking place. Perhaps thats explained in the second half of the video but I don't understand Portuguese
I think it was just a masterclass where selected people get to jam with him. I've been to something similar, but I didn't get to play and I'd be intimidated anyway
I’ve always favored the old school blues players over the shredders but you cannot deny that these boys can play...
I take it back- f*** muddy waters- this is freakin sweet.
I really like steve vai, I think he's one of the most powerful guitarists on earth
Steve, is one of the great virtuosos of the electric guitar of all time, I had the opportunity to see him, years ago, when he presented The Story of Light, it was an incredible show, on stage they were also Jeremy Colson on drums, all a show for himself, Philip Bynoe on electric basses and other great talents, back then!
I saw him on the Fire Garden tour with Mike Keneally in 2000. It was a great show
Fabulous! the great instrumentalist "The wizard" Mike ... I love
Very cool ... that has got to be the most awesome guitar battle I've seen haha ... thanks for posting that.
really enjoyed seeing Steve react to and call and response with
his younger imitator.
