Today we try to do an exercise on the marginal cost of a company
My goal is to include all the necessary information in this article to be able to carry out the exercise even without knowing the topic in depth.

Useful information for developing the exercise
First let's define the concept of marginal cost.
Entering the sphere of economic concepts, marginal cost identifies the cost incurred by a company to produce an additional unit of a good. Be careful, a company can also provide services, in this case the marginal cost is the cost that the company must bear to provide an additional unit of a service.

Useful notes for carrying out the exercise
When we want to investigate a company's data, the variables to consider are usually: quantity, total cost, fixed costs, variable costs, average fixed cost, average variable cost, average total cost, marginal cost.
The marginal cost is calculated in the following way:

It would be the ratio of total cost n - total cost n-1 to quantity n - quantity n-1

Exercise - text
Given the table below calculate the marginal cost of quantity 8

Exercise - Procedure
Given the definition we gave before of marginal cost we can say that we are only interested in the first two columns of the table above. That is, the data in the first two columns are sufficient to calculate the marginal cost. In the figure below they are highlighted in yellow

To calculate the C', or the marginal cost, of the quantity 8 I apply the following formula:

So it would be
C' = (12.9 - 11) / (9-8) = 1.9/1 = 1.9

RESULT
The marginal cost of quantity 8 is 1.9

Conclusions
Marginal Cost, usually marked in tables with the letter C', is the cost that a company will have to bear to produce an additional unit of a good.

Oggi proviamo a fare un esercizio sul costo marginale di un’impresa
Il mio obiettivo è di inserire tutte le nozioni sufficienti in questo articolo per poter comunque svolgere l’esercizio anche senza conoscere a fondo l’argomento trattato.

Nozioni utili allo sviluppo dell’esercizio
Innanzitutto definiamo il concetto di costo marginale.
Entrando nella sfera dei concetti economici il costo marginale identifica il costo sostenuto da un'impresa per produrre un'unità aggiuntiva di un bene. Attenzione, un'impresa può anche fornire servizi, in questo caso il costo marginale è il costo che deve sostenere l'impresa per erogare un'unità aggiuntiva di un servizio.

Note utili per svolgere l’esercizio
Quando vogliamo indagare sui dati di un'impresa le variabili da considerare solitamente sono: quantità, costo totale, costi fissi, costi variabili, costo medio fisso, costo medio variabile, costo medio totale, costo marginale.
Il costo marginale si calcola nella seguente maniera:

Sarebbe il rapporto tra il costo totale n - il costo totale n-1 e la quantità n - la quantità n-1

Esercizio - testo
Data la tabella qui sotto calcolare il costo marginale della quantità 8

Esercizio - Svolgimento
Vista la definizione che abbiamo dato prima del costo marginale possiamo dire che della tabella sopra riportata ci interessano solo le prime due colonne. Cioè sono sufficienti i dati delle prime due colonne per calcolare il costo marginale. Nella figura qui sotto sono evidenziate in giallo

Per calcolare il C', ovvero il costo marginale, della quantità 8 vado ad applicare la seguente formula:

Che applicata alla casella 8 diventerebbe così:

Quindi sarebbe
C' = (12,9 - 11) / (9-8) = 1,9/1 = 1,9

RISULTATO
Il costo marginale della quantità 8 è 1,9

Conclusioni
Il Costo Marginale, di solito segnato nelle tabelle con la lettera C', è il costo che dovrà sostenere un'impresa per produrre un'unità aggiuntiva di un bene.
