Hello, Beautiful beings! Today I am sharing with ya'll my Yoga journey! I recently signed up for an unlimited amount of yoga classes, started on February 19 until March 19! Today is the third day of this journey! I will post every three days of my status, improvements, comments, and just to express myself to ya'll. I have been practicing yoga on and off for about 4 years! This is the first time I am consistently sticking to it with a much higher awareness and patience. I lacked the patience and awareness during my on and off experiences.... I wanted to rush into doing the harder yoga poses, I didn't pay attention to my breathe, and I always had a sense of embarrassment if I did a yoga pose wrong. I have definitely noticed an improvement with my patience, my breathing, my flow, and my confidence with the last couple of days with yoga. I have been practicing yoga inconsistently already for like two weeks now every other day before I made the commitment to consistently go for a whole month. And so now I am here. I am here to express my 29 day Yoga journey so far......

I practice yoga here at the local yoga studio in Griffin. The teachers are great and I always enjoy the space with them. It is a very small and local studio which is exactly what I love. A very personal, intimate type of space here where connections with others are lovely. I sort of keep to myself though, I rarely make conversation with others in the class, Because I came for one thing and one thing only.... To practice yoga at peace. I do not refrain from people talking to me and approaching me, I do answer back and connect with them, I just seem to be a little inward lately and I accept it. I observe myself enough to respect whatever I am feeling or experiencing, I view it with a much more positive perspective rather than a negative one. And by that, I mean a positive view in which I am allowing my self to have this time to reflect and be inward with high awareness to be able to observe my actions, thoughts, and others around me. And if I were to look at that experience in a negative view then I would allow to let my ego make me believe that I am an introvert, I am depressed, or I feel as if I do not want to connect with others when that is not the truth. I want to just clarify those two perspectives to let you, the reader, get a little hint to where I am with my Spiritual journey as well. Yoga is teaching me to be more conscious of my breath. I have recently discovered that without the breathe, there is no life. So breathing is important, and being aware of breath is grand.

Here are some benefits I have experienced with practicing Yoga:

  • Body awareness- I am feeling into my body more, noting subtle movements my body makes, feeling where my body is tight, Learning to interact with my body with awareness, Feeling small vibrations in my feet and hands.

  • slower breathing- I noticed in the past when I would experience anxiety attacks the breath would be fast and short, and because of that experience I am now able to understand the difference between fast short breaths and slow, fluid, relaxed breaths. during Yoga I become aware of the breath and practice slow, relaxed and calm breathing and with that My whole body is positively affected and I feel much more at peace.

  • conscious breathing - The breath is something I am much more aware of now, even when leaving the yoga studio I notice that I take my yoga practice with me wherever I go. Not only do I practice my breathing during yoga, I also am aware of my breathing when shopping for food, hanging with people, being around my family, and being alone. Breathing has become a big awareness enhancer.

So, those are the benefits I learned and have adopted into my life so far from practicing Yoga the past couple of days and from practicing on and off. I do not believe that practicing yoga for one day will allow you to experience all the benefits immediately. Be patient. patience is required when exercising and practicing awareness of the breath and body. I do believe Yoga is helping me on my spiritual journey. Yoga dates back centuries and has been expressed and practiced for many many years. The great Avatars, Gurus, Yogis, and Gods have practiced yoga as a form to help reach them and others into enlightenment.
