Yoga Journey.... DAY 18!! :) (Watch These Documentaries!)
Hey again! :) Today marks the 18 day of my Yoga Journey! I have been watching a couple of documentaries about yoga and meditation as well! Yoga is so much more than practicing challenging moves on a mat, Yoga is about knowing your body, tapping into your soul, and being in the present moment where its just you, your breath, and the mat! My yoga practice is inspiring my spiritual journey. I have been practicing twice a day now and for as long as two hours! I absolutely enjoy doing it! My awareness of my breath has been affecting me positively! I can allow myself to go through traffic without over stressing my body by just focusing on my breathe. Breathing in and out without control but with awareness to tell my body it is okay therefore allowing my body to relax and not tense up.
I want to tell you all about the documentaries I have watched! I got so much insight about what the true practice of yoga is about and where it came from! I watched On yoga: The Architecture Of Peace. This documentary is on Netflix!
This documentary really made me understand the structure of yoga. I realized that yoga isn't just some form of exercise as people believe here in the western culture, but yoga is a spiritual practice to help you overcome any challenge in life by dissolving the ego and allowing peace within. I understand yoga is an ancient practice that was introduced to the west for great a purpose, and for a great purpose only... to elevate consciousness, allowing us to experience fifth dimension perspective, which is entering the heart space and seeing everyone as a reflection of you because we are all one! no separateness exists, we are all apart of this planet known as our mother earth whom needs us to wake up. I express this with much intention that we all need to be doing some form of spiritual practice that will bring you closer to the truth, which is love and compassion. You will know you are on the path of oneness when you begin to experience more love in your life, starting with loving yourself first and then expressing love to others with good intention!
I also watched another documentary about meditation! I absolutely love documentaries, I prefer to watch something worth my time haha. This documentary is on Netflix as well, It is called On Meditation.
This documentary really tied up my love of Yoga with meditation! I believe that Yoga is moving meditation.
and This documentary expressed how meditation helps to calm the mind. We can all agree the mind causes unhappiness and suffering. So, the documentary interviewed a couple of famous celebrities and other gurus on how meditation transformed their life. The documentary interviewed a yoga teacher as well, which really made me realize that meditation doesn't have to be in a far away mountain in the middle of nowhere for you to find enlightenment, or peace within, This yoga teacher lives in New York and meditates daily to allow her loud environment to not affect her as much. I always thought that meditation can only be fully experienced when sitting alone in the woods, which I do still believe that it is easier and allows you to really form a strong meditation practice when away from loud environments and people, but what I am trying to say is that meditation can be practiced anywhere. This means that you can meditate only if you are willing to practice it and willing to expand your consciousness, anyone can do it! How great is that, just do it. Find somewhere to sit alone and just observe your thoughts. Don't make excuses. Find your way, and the way will find you.
I absolutely recommend for you all to watch these two documentaries if you are interested in expanding your consciousness and just to get insight on these ancient spiritual practices. This may be something you are thinking about that will bring happiness into your life, give it a try and allow yourself to fill your love cup to a state you have never had it before in your life, start one day at a time and create new habits to start your yoga practice and meditation practice.
