For the Birds
These are two pieces I created for a debut arts event called the Birds Exhibition. It was a major breakthrough for many of the artists that participated, as well as myself. It consisted of up to fifty different artists of all disciplines such as photography, poetry, sculpture, glasswork, paints, etc. We also included culinary!
I called this piece "Shemowth" which means names in Hebrew. It posed a double meaning for me as this event consisted of so many different names in the artists, artwork titles, and mediums. It was truly a momentous occasion.
The other meaning it contained was this title also referring to the book of Exodus. This event marked a deliverance for our artist community. Almost as if there was a state of oppression, ruled by decision makers that never had any artist's concern in mind. This was an event that gave way to many creatives and their aspirations.
Great work my friend.
