  • The text is as dear today to the hearts of the American people as it was when Thomas Jefferson first penned his words nearly two and a half centuries ago.
  • The Elders – the group of independent former leaders founded by Nelson Mandela, of which we have the honor to be members – has been campaigning for UHC at a global and national level for the past two years. We believe that it is as vital an issue for the US as it is for any other country in the world, and that with bold leadership from national and state leaders, it could and should become a reality.
  • For US neighbors and allies such as Canada and the United Kingdom, UHC has been a cherished element of the social contract between government and citizens for decades.

  • Democrats also won the mayoral race in Manchester, N.H., took over the State Senate in Washington, and outpolled Republicans in a Delaware County Council election for the first time in history. Obviously, the biggest political story last night was the elections in New Jersey and Virginia, where Democrats swept several major elections and gained seats in both states’ legislature.
  • But over on Fox News, you might have missed news of the election because its prime-time opinion talkers, nearly all vocal supporters of President Trump’s, largely ignored it when results began to show a big night for Democrats. Both CNN and MSNBC had nonstop coverage of the election results all night, breaking in to cover President Trump’s address to the Korean National Assembly in South Korea.
  • While she did cover the election results in one segment, the main focus of show was thrown to several nonelection stories about Democrats, including coverage of the firm behind the controversial Trump dossier.

  • According to pretty much all polls, he's hanging strong at 80% GOP base support, most of which definitely do not want this tax bill and are instead merely subject to his cult of personality.
  • On gun control, trust me, if you want to know why we took 1000 seats from the Democrats, it wasn't voter suppression, or gerrymandering, or the Koch Brothers.
  • In any American suburb, exurb, or rural area, ask them about Democrats and "they want to take my guns" is coming in the first 5 seconds.
