THE TORTOISE THE KING [The tortiose and the princess] chapter 4

The king told the gathering, my princess ordered the tortoise that the only way he could marry her was to present within three days a living Hippopotamus or would lose his life. Happily, tortoise did all he was asked to do. Now i am handing over my princess to you. Both of you are now husband and wife. The king said.

Everybody started clapping but the Hippopotamus was not because of he trusted the tortoise as a true friend but he betrayed him, by using him as a gift to the princess on her birthday. The king was very happy that at last the princess would be getting married. He called a feast of all the animal in the kingdom.

I am going to hand over my kingship to my son in law the tortoise. I will also give him all the land i have including my house my car and money. The king said while the animals clapped for the tortoise. The feast lasted very long. The animals dined and wined and went back to their homes happily.

The princess was not glad that the tortoise was her husband because he is slow. she was looking for ways to run away from his house. Anytime she made an attempt, something would happen. The first day she reached the door, the botton of her dress fell on the ground and all the guards rose up and ran toward her to save her. She was annoyed because her plan failed.

The next time she did not wear a cloth with button. She was happy that at last, she would run away fro tortoise. As she wanted to go and get the key, she marched the cat and the cat screamed. All the guard came out to save her.
