Hello Everyone!!!

I hope you are all well and enjoying your lives. The last week of Steemit Engagement Challenge Season 12 has arrived. I would like to congratulate the whole team of the incredible India community for organising an amazing contest and managing the event perfectly. Today I'm here to be a part of this amazing contest: "Steemit Engagement Challenge S12/W6: What is the Grand Festival in Your Country?"

Let's start the contest.

What is the grand festival in your country, and how do you celebrate that festival?

Pakistan is a Muslim country, alhumdulilah, and we celebrate our religious festivals, Eid-ul-Azha and Eid-ul-Fitr, together. Other festivals like Eid milad-un-nabi, Independence Day, basant (kite flying), etc. are also celebrated in our country. My favourite festival is Eid-ul-Azha.

This is a Muslim religious festival; all Muslims in the world together celebrate this festival. On this festival, we sacrifice cattle for Allah. It's celebrated in the sunna of the prophet Ibrahim, who tried to sacrifice his son for Allah. Allah loved his act very much, and Allah made it obligatory for Muslims (who are capable of buying) to sacrifice cattle on the 10th zilhajj, and it's the most important part of our hajj or pilgrimage.

In Pakistan, we celebrate our religious festival with great heart and emotion. We bought cattle 15 days before the festival. We take care of our cattle, and we spend time with them. Our city becomes a cattle farm during this festival.
My kids sit behind the cattle all night, and they enjoy friends gathering and playing all night. They arrange food parties daily, ordering food online, or some time each day, each friend brings food for all. These are some of the benefits of this festival.
We go to see the huge cattle in the area. It's really fun to visit beautiful cattle and see how they are treated with love and care.

On the day of the festival, we sacrifice our cattle in the name of Allah, and we are thankful to him that he blessed us with the sacrifice. Meat is divided into three parts: one for family, one for relatives, and one for the poor. It's not a hard rule, but the best is to divide most of the population into needy and poor.

The last and most entertaining activities are family gatherings around a bonfire or delicious meat dishes. These parties continue throughout the month, passing from one family to the next.

Would you love to go on a vacation during this festive period, or would you love to stay in your country and celebrate the festival with your family? Give the reason behind your choice.

No, I don't want to celebrate this festival outside of the country. The real pleasure of this festival is that, within the country, my overseas relatives also come to Pakistan to celebrate this festival.
In Pakistan, we can keep our cattle with us; there is no need to go to a slaughterhouse, etc., and these activities are the main enjoyment of the festival that can't be done in other countries.

Share with us if you have any memorable moments related to the festival.

Every year, many incidents happen during the festival. As cattle are grown on farms or in villages, when they arrive in the city due to crowds, traffic, and noise, they are frightened, and many unusual accidents happen.
When I was a kid, my friend's cow arrived. When it moved down from the vehicle, the boys shouted loudly, and a boy burst a cracker. Fearful cow ran on the road at high speed and collided with a vehicle approaching from the front. Cow fell down and started to bleed.

It was very shocking for me. I was crying to see the blood of the cow, and my friend was crying too. They took Cow to the hospital; his leg was broken with ingries. That animal was not suitable for the sacrifice, and they bought new cattle for the sacrifice.

There are many incidents like the ones above in my memories, but they happened in front of me, so it's the most memorable sad incident for me.

At the end I would like to invite @kouba01, @msharif, @sualeha and @artist1111 for the contest. I hope you enjoy your favorite festivals too. Thanks for giving time to my post.

Best regards
@suboohi
