ABOUT MY STAINED GLASS WORK

So, my day job is a small business called Le Puppet Regime. I work with age old stained glass techniques, using tools like boars hair brushes, combined with modern themes and tricky engineering. My "Puppets" are all articulated, they move and can be posed by screwing down a small nut on the back of each joint.

They are a little different than typical stained glass works in two ways-- #1. I paint with glass powder and fire it onto the flat glass, so even the design that you see is glass. It will never fade or come off because it IS glass. And #2--you can hang them in a window OR on a wall. They look as great lit from the front as they do from the back.

I do a lot of circus themed work, and incorporate tattoos and lots of patterns. The subject matter is really contingent on what I am reading or watching on tv- when I was watching Legion I was all about this guy with his little hinged face mask:

Sometimes I do the Minotaur from Greek myth. I have found he looks better in a cream colored glass that's a little expensive so I don't do these as often:

It's not exactly an easy life choice to make these. First off, no one else does this (so far) so most people don't get it when they see it. "What is it? Where do I put it? What do I do with it?" Art. Wherever you like. Look at it and think new thoughts.

Next, most people don't consider themselves collectors, and moving into that self-identification is hard for them. But I have ended up with a really lovely following, who support me and are excited by the work. I am able to think about things that interest me all day long, my head is not held hostage by, well, anybody else's thoughts. I have my computer in my studio and watch cryptocurrency videos, and paint, and cut glass. It's a weird exsitance, but it's 100% mine. Now I am beginning to move into bigger shows, and have started to do work that is more complex and maybe slightly more serious. We shall see!
