@dreamsoftheocean is an opportunity for you to be such type of a person.

What started successfully back in summer 2017 will now go into the next round. If you haven't heard about our initiative yet: Dreams of the Ocean is the first Steem-backed charity project dedicated to organize watersports activities for kids in need.

The project is currently run on Canary Islands, aiming to motivate steemians all over the world to start similar activities.

Our last year's experience told us that even though we're located on an island, a lot of kids in our network are non-swimmers. That's why my partner - the Red Cross Lanzarote - and I decided to expand our concept and use this year's generated funds to finance swim trainings.

For island kids knowing to swim is even essential for survival.

Let's help them to achieve those skills.

We're excited to make them smile again!

I was five years old when I put some swimmies on for the very first time.

Learning to swim was a considerable milestone of my own childhood.

That's one of the reasons why I'm excitedly looking forward to our next activity. It'll be an amazing opportunity for those kids, and I can only imagine how they're going to feel when they do their first strokes.

I'm right now negotiating with our local sports centers in order to book the best facilities for a reasonable price and fulfill a dream for as much kids as possible.

It's heart-warming to see how people react when you tell them about your plans.

Doing good for kids is probably the most prestigious form of charity. I haven't ever come to know anybody who doesn't love the idea.

As we mentioned in our last update post, we've currently raised $2,000 USD in Steem funds in order to finance the swim trainings.

That's a lot, but of course it could be even more :-)
