ULTIMATE VACATION - LAKE TAHOE - Hike Rubicon Trail to Emerald Bay
Rubicon Point and Emerald Bay
No visit to Lake Tahoe is complete without a visit to Rubicon Point and Emerald Bay.
The incredible altitude gain is a grim reminder we are all frail human beings ;-)
I really enjoy Rubicon Trail because it hugs the lake and the lake is always in view as you walk from Bliss park to Emerald Bay.
The history here is quite something, and I invite you to look up the history of Lake Tahoe and Emerald Bay since there is a castel down there and so forth!
This rock looks carved. It very well could be, as the walls around Rubicon were obviously chiseled to allow for foot trails, just a few feet away from this rock.
As we look out across the lake from Rubicon trail, we can see South Lake, and the marina where I am staying.
Up above on the mountain, is Heavenly Valley Ski runs coming down the mountain.
And FINALLY, Back to Freshies bar deck for more beer by the lake!
The last pic is non-alcholic Ginger Kombucha (fermented and very bubbly)... there was also a pink one last time, Strawberry Lemon but they were out of it the next day.
The site is a very good looking site. The photos are really stunning. You must have click the snap shot at the perfect time.
I just take a lot of pics, then find a few to share.
There are so many not worth sharing; it's fun to sort the best ones ;-)
Amazing. It looks like an interesting place to visit.
Even though I love how mountains look, I am very afraid of heights, so a little bit of beer always helps in this situation :)
Never tried ballast point, is it good?
I forgot to mention, this is the Grapefruit Sculpin, and it's SO GOOD!
Very citrus and slightly bitter, only a little sweet, but it feels so good sucking it down..
Well, Rubicon Trail looks awesome. I wish one day I could visit here. By the way, you have done marvelous while taking these pictures. They are so clear, you must have used some professional DSLR camera for taking these pictures sir.
I was just there this past weekend too! Crazy busy, but worth it. I live about 4 hours away in the Bay Area.
Lake Tahoe is a nice place to go! Hope you enjoyed it!
Omgsh! Emerald bay is my favorite. Have you been in the winter? I have the ski pass there! 😀
