Update on My Cryptocurrency Journey

in #cryptocurrency7 years ago

Although I got introduced to Steemit, blockchain and cryptocurrency a while back, I still consider myself a rookie on the field.
I'm a very spontaneous person and I love takings risks. That might be a bad combination when dealing with buying and selling crypto.

I've bought these currencies:

Bitcoin
Ethereum
Golem
Melonport

This is also the exact order that I bought them in.
The biggest problem for me is to decide where I want the majority of my money to be. Should I spread them out and have less money invested in each currency? Or should I really go big on one of them?

When I say "go big" I don't really mean big, because I don't have a lot of money invested in any of these. :) But from now on, I think I will invest all the money I earn here on Steemit right into CC.

I buy crypto for money that I can afford to lose. And as a start up company owner, that isn't much right now. But I do think trading crypto is cool and I do it becuase it's exciting!
I check https://coinmarketcap.com/ first thing in the morning. And then I move my insignificant amount of money around like a boss! Ha ha.

If you guys could let me know what currencies you think is the most interesting to invest in right now, I would really appreciate it!

Susanne

When I started taking this serious I would buy the more speculative altcoins and wait for them to pop. The latest success for me was @Pivx and I believe it can do very well. Another good one is ARK and of course Steem which is having a nice ride this am. Welcome to the world of Crypto!

love the hat!

Thank you! My friend @kvithai made it to me this summer :)

Added you to my steemvoter-bot and followed.

I agree that DASH is interesting! :)

DASH is highly underestimated... DOGE and DASH are my favorites - Especially DASH has a lot of not so hidden value, a master node system, full time paid developers through earning from master node/mining (40% mining 40% master nodes 20% developer) - I am still not sure why DASH is only worth 160 an not 900-1200 dollar... still don't get it.... Have a great day, roland

I will! Thanks for reading.

Hi, @susanne! Enjoyed it, thanks.

You can check out BITMEX where you can trade a lot of contract types for the wide range of crypto currencies both futures and spot-like. You can exercise there both no-speculative and/or high speculative trading strategies with leverage up to x100. Bloomberg-style web terminal allows comfort manual trading while state of art API provides possibility for you to employ automatic trading algos. BTW they provide you with the free trading robot if you are fan of robo-trading :) What is more important, they have a testnet server, where you can get used and test the platform. To start there is really simple, see how to deposit free bitcoins to your testnet account below. Short overview or BITMEX trading strategies see at (http://zentrade.online/bitmex-trading-strategies/). Good luck!

Cannot put youtube link into commentary correctly, so here is the link how to deposit free bitcoins to your testnet BITMEX account:

you should look into DASH...im also doing the STORJ coin which basically pays you in STORJ coin to rent out your available harddrive space on the cloud. I just started like a week ago.

I have been keeping an eye on DASH and I agree. The STORJ concept is a cool concept, good luck with it :)

I started like you and now I have like all my portfolio divided between 15-20 cryptos... :-/ But at least 5 of them concentrate more than 50% of my total value (Dash, Ethereum, Monero, Zcoin and Bitcoin). The rest is divided between "why not" and "surely can't do no wrong" cryptos. I have big hope for Factom, Rise, NEM and Ripple though, who have a lot of good press.

yes, i would spread them for two maybe tree cryptos.
Each one person having different opinion. I'm recommend XRP (ripple) for long hold and REP for long and short hold.

Anyway do not sell anything today, bitcoins going down but if you dont want lose money you can transfer yours coins in to gold on https://www.vaultoro.com

Oh! Thanks for the tip! I had no idea about this website :)

no worries, we are all here to help each other

Wow, that is quite many! I am a bit curious about the Dash and Zcoin to be honest.

Invest in what you really believe in. There are alot of new shiny coins out there that may be super hyped up. Most importantly stick with your gut. Good luck!

I am like you, fairly new, and learning the ropes of cryptos. The way I am approaching it is to build out a portfolio of different cryptos with the base currency being Bitcoin. This is similar to how I have built out my other speculative portfolios, especially in junior miners. I have found this approach a better way to manage my risk. I think the swings I have seen in that portfolio the last 18 months have help be better tolerate risk and will hopefully translate somewhat to cryptos.

I am currently looking at Steem, Factom, and waiting for Ethereum to pull back a bit.

Also, thanks for website, I'll definitely add that to my bookmarks.
