What made me login again?

I admit, I haven’t been on Steemit for about a year and today I decided to login because I came across my steemit posts on Busy.org. I have since learned that Busy.org posts all Steemit blogs, so that is a relief. Whew.

Here is what I noticed that is new on Steemit.

• Ads on Steemit. Wow!
• Billboards on many accounts with links to their websites. Why not?
• My once fellow newbies are now ‘UP THERE’ in steemit rankings. You Go Guys!
• You can buy RedfishSMT ? Oh man, Redfish Progress!
• I have 815 followers! Well now. . . .

Here is what is new with me.

I became an Amazon Seller.

I was successful. I played by the book and took all my own photos and adhered to their policies. Soon after, others starting selling the same product and they used my photos. Regrettably, Amazon didn’t do anything about my concerns. The product price went down and when I sold my last item, I shut it down.

I deleted my Facebook account.

People ask me why. When I mention about Facebook’s Data Collection they say: “Oh, I’m not worried about that.” Indeed, that is what scares me! How many third party app consents did they need to agree to, so that they could do a quiz, play a game or find their IQ? How many of those ‘foreign-to-me’ apps have my info without my consent?

China already rolled out their new Social Rating System and depending on your score you may or may not get a job, loan, or friends. And it will probably come to America. Imagine, years from now those that would be born into a low social ranking family? Laws change over time; four decades ago, I saw plenty of men give their wives a pat (fun-slap?) on the bum. Now-a-days that can cost you your reputation! You see, deleting my Facebook account removes the chance that something lawful today will not bite me in the ass tomorrow.

I lost my long-time best friend Dog.

It hurt pretty bad, almost as bad as losing my Mom.

He asked me today if I noticed anything different. I looked at him straight on. “Err, no.” I replied. That is when he told me he shaved his beard off 4 days ago! I blushed and laughed an embarrassing laugh. Boy, I am glad I can’t be socially down-voted for that one . . . YET!
