Alcoholism and me
I have an addictive personality. Something comes along, and I like it, and I get hooked on the feeling. As of late I have been tapping into my dormant alcoholism. In the past month I have bought a bottle of 12yo dimple scotch, which lasted me 4 days, a bottle of balantines which lasted me 3,and 2 bottles of sake, which lasted a day each.
A friend once said to me, people aren't necessarily addicted to the substance, more addicted to the escape from reality that said substance provides.
I am inclined to agree.

yea that's a nice "idea" however alcohol is an extractor of spirits, hence it will put your spirit to sleep tethered outside your body and another spirit will take over - so it's a little more than just a psychological escape. It takes quite a bit more spiritual work to raise one's consciousness so that it is no longer in such psychic pain and thus no longer requires alcohol to find ease and comfort... it's a path.
