Tambe Not Eligible to Play in IPL
48 year old, Pravin Tambe became the oldest player to be bought in the history of IPL. He was bought by KKR for a base price of 2 million Indian rupees which is nearly equal to $30 thousand. However, according to a BCCI official, Tambe is not eligible to play in the IPL because of the fact that he featured in the other leagues across the world without announcing his retirement from international cricket. He played in the T10 league in the desert and was a key figure in the team.
At the age of 48, we get the impression that he won't be able to play more cricket. However, nothing can be said about his intentions, maybe he wants to play till 50. He has featured in 33 IPL matches so far in four seasons. He was most effective when he was with Rajasthan Royals in 2014th edition of the IPL. He took 14 wickets that year and used to bowl upfront with the new ball.
It has surely disturbed the squad composition of KKR and they might be looking for replacements in order to keep the balance of the team. A possible replacement could be a 22 year old Shams Mulani. He is a left arm slow bowler and a decent batsman as well. He has made headlines recently by playing quality cricket for Mumbai. He hasn't been around for a long time but he is good player and might end up playing for KKR.
