My hope ran aground on the way.
I walked down the path,
on a settlement
where a number of nation's children
take shelter from rain water
trying to avoid the hot sun
a place they often call 'Houses'
As I walked,
I see the nation's children
with the uniform slums being hit
no protective footwear
making his feet often splattered muddy splatter on the side of the road
but his spirits demand knowledge,
like a blazing fire
and will never go out
I walked back,
for a moment I hear the groans of the nation
"Mother, Father, I want to school like them, I also have dreams, hopes and futures," she moaned.
but what power, his parents only able to silence a thousand languages
My Leader, My Government,
do not you see?
distress over the nation's children
do not you also hear?
the groan of a nation who is hungry for education
are you guys too busy?
too busy spoiling the treasure
and too busy playing with your money
Or maybe you forgot?
every time a sweet promise you say
in front of thousands of pairs of eyes that witnessed
Do not you remember, O state officials?
the nation's children are part of the people
because your people lead
because your people are leaders
though only one vote and one trust from each people
you are not aware, 'one' is meaningful
because there will be no 'one thousand' without 'one'
My Leader, My Government,
not aware?
the people have bet everything
from dreams, hopes, to the future
but what is the reply from each 'one' voice and 'one' belief that the people are staking?
only a hoax and a delusion that seems' impossible, so be it
I just hope
a time, this country
the country that is now extinguished
it's back brightly lit.
