The air that changes frequently in this era causes this locust species to be very rarely seen, especially in regions that have long cold temperatures, this is because it is always hiding in search of a warm place. So this is what causes these grasshoppers are rarely seen in cold temperatures.

Winter is one season that is very disliked by this species, because they cannot find food at this temperature so that when entering this season most of them remain silent in a place hidden from the cold. In general, looking for a place in a closed room, usually they live in a closed host plant, or if there is a small cave in the area, often on the edge of the cave. One example in the Aceh forest area is that there are many caves. If entering the rainy season there are a lot of grasshoppers there.
