Why does the computer slow down over time?
One of the biggest troublesome computer problems: slow the device over time.
This may start a year after you purchased your device, but sometimes this happens within a few months.
Since we each have their own use of the computer, we can not identify one specific cause for such a problem.
The general idea is that when you run your computer for the first time you will find it loading and displaying files at supernatural speed, because it has not stored anything yet.
Regardless of the quality of your computer, whether PC or Apple Mac, your computer will be full of files by downloading some software, installing some or even surfing the Internet, and taking up the computer storage space that was all dedicated to Its speed and efficiency at first.
In addition, there are many reasons why computers are slowing down, and that's what we've been interested in when we look at some of the key causes more carefully.
We first started a conversation with Rachel - a technical expert at Apple's Tekserve Computer Maintenance Center in New York City.
Rachel said that the software and software hard disk drive is a major factor in the problem of slowing the speed of computers over time.
This happens for a number of reasons, including crashes, operating system disorders, RAM, or even normal hardware disruption over time, especially for Windows.
Static electricity has a role in this, as it affects the energy level of the device, and may result from the friction of the device with carpets or any other fabric.
There are two other reasons that are overlooked: lack of enough RAM (memory used to run programs) and simply out of hard drive space.
Lack of enough RAM causes the hard drive to slow down and attempts to compensate for the memory loss needed to run the programs.
Another intrigue in which the victims of computer slowdown are falling is to install unnecessary applications, which takes up hard disk space, and of course your computer loses its hard disk space at lightning speed.
But fortunately there are many applications that help you to know which programs takes a lot of space on your computer:
For Apple-Mac OS X users: OmniDiskSweeper is a free application that helps you determine which files specifically occupy space on your computer.
For Windows users: The WinDirStat application helps you manage your computer by reviewing storage space statistics and a quick cleanup tool.
But what if you do not have that number of applications, but your device is empty, yet the problem of annoying slowdown continues?
If you are constantly updating your operating system, unfortunately this may slow down the device, as updates themselves take up more and more space that drains your computer resources.
"In theory, if you do not make any updates to the operating system and do not use redundant applications that occupy hard disk space, the computer will be in its fourth year as if it were made yesterday," said Whiston Gordon of Lifehacker. , But unfortunately that's not the best way to use computers. "
If you have a hard disk with a swivel-like HDD, as you see above, you are likely to experience a computer slowdown because these disks are slowing down over time.
It is important to note that all of these discs have a default age that can not be exceeded, whether it is a few months or even a decade. It is the nature of the design, my friend.
There is a simple solution to this problem. You can use a solid state hard drive known as a SSD.
What distinguishes this disk is that it contains mobile memory - Flash Memory such as mobile phones and tablets - Tablets.
Without going into deep details, the mobile memory of the solid-state hard drive does not have a rotating arm like the one in the previous image, but relies on a small processor that makes it more efficient.
We can not deny the fact that Malware and Viruses affect the speed of the computer, but there is a great misunderstanding. Some computer users believe that it is necessary to have one or more antivirus programs to protect the device from dangers.
This is the conviction of the myths that were denied and exposed by Oyston Gordon as well.
Gordon recommends not to rush to buy an anti-virus program and follow these steps first:
First, learn some of the principles and information about viruses and how they affect them.
Your first line of defense is your computer in Safe Browsing. If you love browsing anonymous websites, downloading apps, and possibly movies and serials from unknown sites, you're putting yourself at risk.
Conversely, if you are even moderately committed to safe browsing, you will probably not be infected with any viruses.
Beside checking applications that are running on your computer and using Safe Browsing, you should also:
Clear your browser's cache and internet browsing history as well as clean your computer from any Internet-related files and do not need them.
Recycle bin - Recycle Bin constantly.
Checking applications running on the computer called Startup programs, and also investigating hidden applications that run in the background after a period of operation, may be caused by an error in closing an application.
In the end, we have to face the fact that over time, computers will become slow.
It's a natural progression. Every minute, the capabilities of the Internet and software evolve. These new innovations require more power and space to keep up with the pace of technology.
It may not be your fault that your computer is performing slower than it was, it's just a sign of time passing very quickly!
