What are the fundamentals of a project management

in LAKSHMI4 years ago

The more I communicate with people, the more often I am amazed how many of them, being incredibly capable in their field and even talented , abandon their plans and ideas simply because their implementation seems difficult.

Long ago I realized that it is absolutely necessary to learn to solve problems gradually . Start with analysis and planning instead of looking at potential obstacles.

I have learned to consider each next task as easy to do as any of the previous ones. Over the past 10 years, in most cases I have actually managed to achieve my goals.

In the end, I realized that only your attitude, your confidence and motivation are important for a specific task.

The task itself, as well as possible obstacles to its solution, is only a small part of the entire project. It is worth admitting that the task has a huge volume only according to preliminary estimates, your experience and confidence will easily outweigh it - and it will become much easier to complete the task.

Never start planning with mistaken assumptions about any stage of the project. Planning is not a process where you need to discuss the pros and cons of a particular implementation.

Your goal is to end up with a project plan. To complete tasks, you need a plan, and not a list of reasons why achieving your goals is decidedly impossible.

Do not try to be shrewd and original - the time for that will come. First, make the simplest plan. Define the goals of the project, build a chain of events that must happen to achieve each goal. You can always expand the plan and add details, but it’s important to stay focused.

Planning starts with simple things, gradually adding details. First of all, you need to describe the stages of the start of the project, its implementation and completion. Then expand the list by adding various project goals and specifying the tasks required to achieve those goals.

When the initial planning is ready, it's time to start the project. Define the first steps - and forward.

Do one thing at a time and pay special attention to ensuring that each completed task has its place in the big picture and brings you closer to the completion of the project. If something doesn't feel right, it probably is. Maybe tasks should be regrouped.

Remember: with a large number of projects, you cannot create a detailed plan without initial analysis and preparatory work. This means that if the plan turns out to be flawed, you just need to work on it more - it is not at all necessary to declare it wrong and start over.

Some people are just afraid to review. Each time they are revised, they fall into the grip of an inexplicable fear that stops them. They find dozens of reasons to postpone the revision of the project, in the end they approach the deadline, in an extremely restless state they review and understand that it is impossible to meet the deadline, and it is already too late to correct the situation.

Give yourself your word never to do that. If there is any hint of reluctance to revise any part of the project, drop everything else immediately. Stop project-related activities and ask yourself: Do I have any reason to be afraid of revision?

This could have ended, but I want to remind you once again: the key to success is your attitude!

There are no impossible tasks, there is a lack of analysis and planning.

There are no unexplained fears, people just don't pay attention to them.

I hope my article was helpful to you. Go ahead, pick a few projects and give them a shot. If you have projects that have failed, so much the better! Achieve brilliant success this time and prove to yourself and everyone else: by getting down to business wisely, you can reach any heights!
