The power of dreams and why you should never stop dreaming | A short story of how I got my dream guitar
Hello dear steemians, I always love to recall my memories of how I got my first good electric guitar which I dreamed for ages and it makes me believe in the power of dreams and thought put together. Back in 2011 I hit a rough patch when I had to shut down my venture as a freelancer guitar teacher in a different city and had to move back to my hometown and restart from scratch.
I had a little money which I saved up and as i literally had no proper work, I thought by the time I gain ample students to earn a decent living I should try my luck with this money in share trading. So I started and gradually i was gaining knowledge and suddenly after 2 months there was a huge turbulence in the market which I could not handle as a newbie and I lost all my money.
There was a severe need for a good guitar and Fender Telecaster was the guitar I craved for all my life. It's an expensive guitar and buying a new one was a wild fantasy back then so I shut down the idea for a new guitar. After a few months one of my mentors was selling his used telecaster at a throwaway price I was super excited and wanted to give it a try. I went and tried the guitar everything was in place and I couldn't wait to buy this, I tried arranging the money for it but I failed.
I thought to myself that life is an amazing journey since it gives you so many impossible opportunities and if you fail to grab, it's gone forever. This was hell of an opportunity since getting to find someone selling an American Telecaster in my city is a rare phenomenon and it's been 5 years since then and I never found another person in my city selling an American Tele.
Roughly 4 months later I got a call from a friend who informed me about a Fender Tele for sale it's 12 years old and made in Japan. The manufacturing unit in Japan for Fender has shut down may be a decade ago, but they produced amazing guitars real value for money. But these guitars were rare and I doubt whether it was available for sale in India when it was circulated.
But I was surprised to hear that a Russian Guy was selling this guitar, he came to India to visit the ISKON headquarters in Mayapur , he was a devotee and wanted to donate the money after selling the guitar. This guy had put up in that friend's place I went there checked out the guitar and though to myself I have to let go off another golden opportunity since I still need 30 Grands more in INR to buy this which I don't have at the moment.
I told this guy just hold on I will call you tomorrow. I went home and sat down thinking, asking for a loan is something I am not good at. Suddenly my mom told me her investment with some fixed deposit matured a day before and she was wondering what to do with it. I paused for a second and "told myself " don't let this opportunity to go".
I told mom and she was more than happy to help me in buying the guitar. I still can't believe how everything got sorted and this is one of the instances that makes me believe in the power of dreams and the Law of attraction. To most of the people it might be a mere coincidence but to me it's the Power of dreams. I never stopped dreaming.
One of the greatest monks of the 20th century Swami Vivekanada rightly quoted "What you think is what you become"
A few years later I found my guitar a friend
The second guitar belongs to another friend

That's a pic of my telly. I've always loved their playability, but am not a huge fan of the twang this lipstick pickups give you, so when I saw this one with P90x pickups in (very grungy and driven tone) I knew I had to have it. Going to play it now, in honor of your beautiful telly!
Wow. This looks pretty cool. Brilliant. Will follow you now. Cheers!!!!!!!
