INTRODUCTION

Greetings to this great and wonderful platform today is another edition where I will be talking about the Cultivation Of Vegetables in the North West Region Of Cameroon such as Cabbage

Cabbage farming
These are the most highly and the most consumed vegetables in the north west region and the entire nation of Cameroon.

How the preparation is been done before planting

Since these are highly Cultivated crop across the region,the ir Cultivation and preparation are

1).Clearing of farm

It is usually done before planting of the crops.the reason is because they want to ease their planting transaction by letting the soil to manual it self well and also to make the soil bacteria more active.

2). tilling of soil

This is always don to ensure the sifting and easy growth of plant went need arises .went the soil are not well tillted it doesn't facilitate the plant grow easy.

3). Moisture

The amount of water vapor in the atmosphere must be enough to contain the plant grow by maintaining the atmospheric humidity which most be above 50%centigree.

4). Soil

The soil most be reach enough to favor the growth of cabbage. this because black humous soil moisture is very rich and important in the favor of vegetables.

5)Temperature

The environment must have normal, atmospheric temperature so that these crop can grow successfully for better upliftment and also attract the attention of the market.

Method used in Cultivation Of Vegetables (cabbage)

There are so many Methods used in the Cultivation Of cabbage 🥬 but to begin

1). seedlings

They are usually nurse at the humous and more ventilated area for proper germination so as to fasten the planting and also to ensure fast growth 💹 with yeild of the crops.

2). Transplanting

It atually come in after the seed nursing have germinated , during these period,the seed are transplant with proper care so as to avoid breaking or cutting of the seed.

3). Watering

Some time, Methods of irrigation are apply so as to fasten the growth 💹 of the plant.this Methods are easy apply during the period of the dry season so as to avoid stunning of plant ☘️

4). Fertilizing the plant

This is always done to increase the yield of farming and the Products of the farm .
It is done with the use of artificial fertilizer such as NPK, sulphate all accounts for soil fertility increase.

5). Farm weeding

Here the farm and the crops environment is always keep clean to attract sunlight ,water vapor with atmospheric temperature and humidity for the growth of cabbage.

IMPORTANCE of vegetables Cultivation (cabbage)

The IMPORTANCE of these crops are as shown below

1). feeding

It self as food to the entire population since it's is also a mean of subsistence agriculture where most population only cultivate only from hand to mouth existence.

2). Income

It also seft as a means of employment since most youth are jobless and has no mean of survival apart from Agriculture.

3) technology improvement

Since most youth are bound to remain in agriculture due to lack of job,more technology are brought upon since there are no no end mean of survival.

limitations of vegetables Cultivation (cabbage)

Most farming system always have limitations for the following reasons

1). Capital

Since there is lack of capital ,these hinder the growth of plant .the is because Cultivation came as a result of input capital.

2) Farm to market road

Went there are no farm to market road this also hinder crop Cultivation leading to food spoilage in the farm due to lack of road for transportation to the farm.

3) Soil erosion

Went there is heavy rain fall ,this can lead to crop distruction causing the the crops to be stunted and becaming yellow in which it can cause low yield in Cultivation.
