Fortune, FUD and expected promisesteemCreated with Sketch.

Because of some schedule issues at the hospital, the infusion planned for Friday is inatead currently ongoing. It will be a big day of hospital-ing but it means that Friday will be free, which is a warmly welcomed turn of events. The medication leaves me foggy for a week with migraines but, such is life. Oh, the tests didn't go so well so for a little while at least, instead of treatment every 8 weeks, it will be every 4. Such is life.

I am on my phone with one hand only, be warned ;)

I count myself fortunate, at least I have access to treatment. I used to worry a lot about a lot, these days I am pretty at peace no matter what comes my way as I figure, as long as I attempt to be my best, the results are what they are. Some may pass opinionated verdict but, that is their issue with me, not my issue with me. Too often we identify with the judgements and opinions others have of us, adjust for their expectations and lose ourselves in the process.

It is funny how we can evaluate fortune. If you consider those of us in the crypto business now who hold anything, we are likely going to be much better off than many others who aren't here. On a global scale, we are a very rare breed. Are we fortunate to have come across the opportunity early?

For those who buy into the FUD, you'd think not. No one seems to question the intentions of those who are selling the fear, uncertainty and doubt though do they? What is in it for them? Cheap coins, or are they bitter they haven't held like others? I find it interesting when people who seemingly dislike their time on Steem spend so much time complaining about it, on Steem. They are still engaged, still compelled, still just can't walk away. Why is that?

It doesn't really matter to me when people complain about the world yet do very little about it, if anything at all. Perhaps it is just the world of the internet, a land of gossip and engineered outrage. Of course, no one need be outraged by what in any other context wouldbe ridiculous to be upset about.

There are plenty of people doing a lit of good too, at least trying. It is an endless cycle though, no matter the solutions that arrive, new complaints will follow closely behind. You don't often hear people complaining about their own solutions though, those they can always justify, or divert attention from. I don't spend much of my time looking for the wrong in others these days, unless it offers reflective experience for my own path. I don't search the wrongdoers out as it is not an effective use of my time.

Today, @acidyo wrote an interesting post about the project delays of Steem and compared them to Ethereum. Par for the course. Many don't deal with delay well, partly because of instant gratification habits with a lack of patience and partly because they have built into their perspective an expectation of the future. When it doesn't arrive as expected, it creates a cognitive dissonant position and rather than look at the error of expectation, they lay blame on those they think didn't deliver what was expected....

but, but... you promised...

For me personally, even if I had expectations built, delay is a timeline shift, an adjustment. I enjoy my time spent on Steem, so of I could have fun before the knowledge of delay, I can have fun after. If intelligence is one's ability to adapt to change, what are those who are unable? If the new position taken is fear, panic and outrage, is that a successful adaption to the environment?

To each their own, as they say. Complaint is fine but when they is all the activity one can muster without knowledgeable attempt at solution or direct action, it is impotent.

"Look! It is raining. We are getting wet. This sucks."

...While people are investing into shelters, creating umbrellas and, working in the rain. Yeah, people know it is raining and most likely, before it started but unfortunately, many don't start acting until there is a degree of suffering one step further than bearable.

As I have said, I like these times for various reasons but I don't expect everyone to feel the same about it. @frot mentioned the other day about me continuing on regardless of how low price is. For me it is about consistency and as I think that this place has a strong potential future, I will work as if it is already true. The tasks just need to be performed to get there.

I don't mind working in the rain.

Some will break, many will fall, some will stand back up and keep going. If this place comes together and becomes close to what it could be, it won't be because of those who actively complained, but those who actively worked. The reason is that for the most part, the complaints are not new information, the solutions will be.

And so the headache begins.

Your work ethic for however long it is now is just incredible. Much credit to you.

One hand on the phone and the other on a big-ass golf umbrella?

Yes.. um... umbrella.... :D

A little more rain for a little longer please.

lol

This will be a season or two of storms, plenty of time to get the house in order :)

If it keeps dropping and your job hunt work out, you will be able to buy back everything for a weeks beer money ;)

the complaints are not new information, the solutions will be.

I have to say I love this. Very well put (well, as usual, your post is thought out well throughout) but this last phrase just sums it up so well - the entire mentality behind staying here, even through the issues.

This is the internet, a world of information, uninformed complaints :D

Get better soon bro. It can be difficult to keep going especially when the focus is on their financial benefit but though I feel the pinch, I still enjoy the roles I have chosen for myself in the crypto space as well as the reputation I have earned (I do. Not mean the 61 beside my username). It is quite easy to forget how ordinary a writer one is outside the cryptosphere.

In this little space of ours, I have found purpose for my pen and i have influenced others to dare themselves. I think that is an achievement. The financial side is a bonus. So I am still around, still kicking it.

It is quite easy to forget how ordinary a writer one is outside the cryptosphere.

Yes, but you don't have to worry about being an ordinary writer anywhere.

I have found purpose for my pen and i have influenced others to dare themselves. I think that is an achievement. The

This is service and duty to something greater. The financial benefit is a secondary system, a symptom of the work.

Nothing really comes from complaining but we could be heard better when discussing solutions and thoughts instead of pointing fingers and spreading the blame game. I have been reflecting on everything said but do not like to react too quickly as I have learned that sometimes it is best to let things slowdown before doing an assessment. I can visualize not engaging here as it has become a part of my day and life so that speaks a lot to what I think can be built here.

I think this depends a lot on track record and engagement as everyone has an opinion but, no one really knows who is who.

This is the smart move IMO

This kind of work is not too dangerous in the rain so we’re fine to keep on keeping on 😉

Seems people are made of sugar. Makes me wonder why they are so bitter ;)

Does stress affect the tests or not really? You did well with one hand.

I really enjoyed reading this artice @tarazkp Not only do you write well, you make some very valid points and challenge us to test our own responses to the FUD mentality. (I actually had to look up the meaning, as I wasn't familiar with the term but I am unfortunately familair with "Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt")

Your words of faith and positivity hold more weight, in light of your present health challenges because most people would have adopted the FUD way of thinking, convincing themselves that they had every right to be negative.

The instant gratification of which you speak, is a modern day phenomenon which does little to develop ones character and this is why I am seeing adult aged babies everywhere complaining about their 'lot in life.' They expect to be spoon fed with food they didn't prepare, dress only in clothes with designer labels, and be paid an income they didn't earn.........whilst still complaining that 'Life just isn't fair!

Consistency is the key and keeping an umbrella on hand is essential. Let it rain on our parade for a time. We, who have our eyes on the future, will open our umbrellas to deflect the heaviest drops of fear, uncertainty and doubt and then watch what sprouts up (because of the rain) during the time of reaping what we have sowed, and be glad we didn't loose hope.

My initial expectations for the time I have been in Steemit have not been met, based on what was happening when I first joined but.......I know I have grown as a person, have developed new skills and have established great friendships along the way. Steemit is not all about receiving. It's about giving too..........For some it is financial. For others it is time and effort..........and these combined effforts will produce fruit in due season.

One handed skill: 💯

I wonder what do you use that skill for?
