Reflection from the Steem
I have a few minutes before a client session starts and instead of grabbing a coffee, I have decided to spend the time sitting in the car in the parking lot, writing. Everyone has their way to relax or process and mine is now active reflection through creation. Creativity as I see it is an inherent trait in us all as humans, even though many struggle to use the skill to its potential.
Do you consider yourself an artist? What makes good art anyway?`For me, I think art is something that helps me take a new perspective on experience and evokes new thinking on life, my life. Art as the observer is a reflective experience that helps us connect to the world around us and this means that the creative process for me is to be a reflection of my own experience, life as I see it, to raise topics that are important to me at the moment. It is obvious that Steem is important to me and, I think it is pretty obvious that there is more to it than economic opportunity.
It is sometimes hard to find a place in the ecosystem however, as while there is a great many things to do, not all necessarily allow me to express myself as me. This is part of the reason that while I am keen for lots of people to play games on Steem, I myself haven't really played any at all because for me personally, it doesn't feed the creative process I need to engage in the world around me. Writing does do this, as does reading about the experiences of others who are on similarly positioned, but often quite different journeys themselves.
At work (and with a little bit of prodding) we have started reflecting as a team on our place within the department and greater organization, both in the present moment and for the future. One of the things that I am relatively good at is taking long views and processing various scenarios and outcomes of what might eventuate. Sometimes though I miss the details of the present moment on how to get to where we are aiming.
I do the same thing on Steem as while it is helpful to understand the potential of the future, it is also necessary to act in a way doing tasks that are likely to get me to where I want to be. One of the things that I find quite exciting is that if I am successful here, many other people are going to be right there along side me, successful also.
I see the position of where we are currently as much like a startup where we are all founders and investors working together for a common goal, except there is very little common in it other than, successful Steem. None of us really know what that looks like or what will bring it about but all of us have intuition as to what it could be.
For me, I think that it is going to have many factors involved and like I said the other day, they are going to include the three fundamentals of the community, the currency and the distribution as it will be these three things in unison that drive all other innovations through incentivizing behavior. While some focus on building the community as they think that is the core component that drives distribution, others are looking at the mechanics of the blockchain as that is what they think drives communities through distribution. It is a circular process and while no one has definitive answers, the adjustments are always ongoing, always in tension.
I think I see this but even after almost 2.5 years I am yet to really find my place in the community, which is likely why I spend so much time in reflection of Steem and myself within it. While I am certain of the potential, I still hold a great deal of uncertainty of my future position on the blockchain, other than the stake I hold. Will I always be a contributor, will I be an enabler, will I be a silent partner? Well - silent is unlikely.
There are so many possible positions on Steem and while some choose a path, it is easy to criticize others who have chosen another path yet, with this amount of uncertainty of the future and, with it being a distributed network that encourages innovation and diversification of ideas, who is to say what is right?
All I know is: my client session is starting.

I probably would have taken the coffee. It will be interesting to see how this plays out and where people will fit in. It is still too early and things will open up at some point creating opportunities. I am hoping in two or three years we will all be in strong positions with many choices.
I ended up getting one for the class anyway :)
2 or three years, the entire industry has shifted. I think we will be in a good position.
I can relate as I find that the content I find myself more attracted to is the one I least get attention for and sometime vice versa. I guess we keep going until it all matures!

THe maturity of it will mean that we are able to do as we please, when we please and still earn if we have enough stake :) I think as the world starts to wake up to opportunity, there is going to be an awakening of the creative forces of humanity. It really is an exciting prospect. :)
I find my home on this blockchain and is the ecosystem I focus on. I 💘 every angle of it.
Stay positive and don't bring any doubt in your mind and Steem On!

I enjoy the uncertainty of it, I enjoy the stress to some degree too. the industry is going to be massive and Steem will have its place within thousands of experiences I believe.
If it all comes crashing down, so be it :)
I really don’t think we are going to find our place here for at least 2 more years. It will also open up more giving opertunity in many areas that are in peoples wheelhouse instead of trying to fit and adapt with such a degree of reeducation.
Have a good day mate
Yeah, it is going to take some time and I am trying to predict where mine might be in those two years. If the price of Steem is very good over an extended period, perhaps I can be a full time blogger :D
You are far better off then most, but then again you have been here longer.. one day it will all just fit, and you will be on your way
Hahaha I didn’t hit the post button
lol. I do that sometimes and find it later :D
If it all works out, I'll be fine, so will you :)
That’s one thing. It all will work out ad we will be fine. I believe that.
It may not be with richness but what are riches.
Ohh look at that steem must have went up a little
Congratulations on using your space time to create on Steem! Not only you saved some Euros for the price of coffee but also you are earning an equal or greater amount while creating this post...

At these prices, a little less but in a year or two, enough for a few more coffee :D
