Thoughts, Words and Photos (Twenty Two)
Not everything we do can reach even our own standards but sometimes it is necessary to push it forward due to the many reasons that can come between what we targeted and we were able to achieve with the resources at hand. It could be time, money, strength, skill or any other limitation imposed that gets in the way but even the perfectionists must at some point make do with what was possible at the time.
These are outtakes from our wedding photos, the ones that didn't make the cut so have not been processed too much other than a little rough cleanup work. Looking back, I might review and reprocess the chosen photos again. Yes, we have selfies for wedding photos as it was just my wife and I in a field in the country, a quickly setting autumn sun and a camera with a WiFi connection. It wasn't ideal, it wasn't what I had envisaged but, it fit for us at the time with what we had available and to me, that is more important than reaching perfection, it suits us as a couple better.
My wife and I are adaptors and are the types to not set hard rules expecting that things will go to plan, as there is much too much experience to the contrary in our lives both together and apart. Things shift and change daily and just when things seem to be in hand, another wrinkle appears or, a stick in the spokes of the wheel to send us tumbling. Nothing has stopped us yet though, we have always picked ourselves up, dusted away the grime of the road and moved forward albeit at times, a little worse for wear.
I love my wife a lot but she is a double edged sword. I am so happy that she is by my side whilst knowing she also deserves much better than I have been able to provide her so far. Sometimes, outtakes of life are not enough and a little perfection and fairy tale are required. It seems so little to ask of the world to have just a little perfect from time to time doesn't it?
The problem is, there is either no perfect possible due to the nature of nature itself as it is always shifting and evolving or, everything is always perfectly imperfect and is always doing the best it can in the eternal moment of the now. My view leans towards perfectly imperfect where we all do the best we can with what we have now but this does not mean we are unable to do better a moment, a day or a decade later with what we will have then.
None of us are finished until our mind, body and heart stop moving which means until that point, we can keep learning from our experience and adapting to be better suited in the moment. So, until I am better, I will do the best I can. Perhaps that is the lesson of fairy tales, they are an illusion but, we can still try.

Awesome photography, Nice words .. I wish you all the best . beautiful thanks for sharing
What you and your wife have is a beautiful thing. I wish I had such connection with someone close to me.
Perfection I have come to realise is spontaneous. A wonderful setting sun blazing it's glory before it fades is not planned, it just happened. Nature seem to make much happen spontaneously than when we make plans over and over again.
You find that some spontaneous decisions have turned out great and you have made memories, you will never forget.
In the grand scheme of things though, perfection is an unachievable goal but we can be so so much better in its pursuit.
This is definitely how I see the process
Wow. I'm glad I read this piece.
I give a big kudos to your wife for being understanding, patient and willing to work and walk with you.
Most times, the choice of a partner is worth settling down to look for and pray for. Cuz if you miss it, you could miss a large piece of you.
Yeah. We plan, and its always good to always replan if the plan doesn't work too well, and its good to have a partner (business, academics or even marital) that's willing to be patient, understanding and ready to work with you. I would say that I've gained something from this beautiful piece.
My regards to your wife @tarazkp. She's such a beautiful soul.
And your pictures too are quite beautiful too.
About standards, mine are very high, even for me. But I don't meet them most of the time, even though I strive to. It's the human way to adapt. Over time I found that these standards have dropped, probably due to its being set too high, I wonder if it's wrong for that to happen, what do y'all think?
Depends I guess on what is being done and what is the goal. I think it can b a slippery slope also as if the personal standards drop, the next drop is a little lower again so if not vigilant, it ends up with low-standards being acceptable.
Then I'll have to get my personal standards back up. And for the sake of building and keeping relations, leave the ones for people, a tad lower.
This is by far the biggest advice for married couples.
Picking yourselves up, dusting and moving forward comes hand in hand with patience. And this is what many married couples are not willing to wait for.. In the end breaking up happy marriages and the children get affected with the separation of the parents.
Your wife as you've said knows she deserves much better but she appreciates the best you provide. This is what we who are in marriage ought to learn. Am glad she's by your side through thick and thin. Your marriage will always continue blossoming with love.
These are really beautiful! I like that they are not your typical wedding photographs, you can get a sense of your personalities and love for each other in them. Thanks for sharing! We could all use a little more love in our days ;)
So nice of you to reveal your spouse and relatipnship. Yes, we are perfectly imperfect people in this world. And i believe that to you have to adjust and little compromise to carry on a relationship to eternity.
Great photos, i would wish to see both your faces, but i know you can't put because of privacy reasons.
Life is a every day change and we have to do the best we can with what we got. A small exercise i like to to every night before sleeping, is thinking what i could have done better during the day and try to improve in the future :)
No, these are the way I took them :)
