Alphabet: the letter Ю
You are well acquainted with the sound, for which this letter is used. In English this sound is transmitted with the letter U. In Russian the letter looks different: Ю. Exactly like this, a vertical line on the left, a short horizontal jumper, a circle (or oval) on the right. So I did not immediately recognize the familiar letter when I saw this installation. I had to read the explanatory tablet. This letter is part of the installation "33 characters. Real Cyrillic stories".
The author of the image of the letter Ю is a Russian illustrator and typographer Yuri Gordon. He believes that after turning to the vertical position the letter Ю begins to resemble a flower, mast or anchor. And if you start to rotate this letter, it will look like a compass.
