Steel Wool Chaos Underneath A Movie Shoot

in #photofeed6 years ago

I have been experimenting by doing different things with steel wool lately. Trying to achieve a different look then the same old spinning it in front of you or over your head. My attempts tonight where pretty chaotic lol.

Neither of these attempts turned out in the way I way had hoped, but still turned out pretty decent.

In the shot below I packed my spinner with two pads of steel wool (Something I have done a long time ago) the result is almost overbearing.

Then I did this more normal one. With the intention of trying to merge two photos to create a portrait with the steel wool behind. I have been waiting a long time to do a steel wool portrait and since I was there alone, that would have been the only way. But after I took the self portraits, decided against it. I can have patience and do it right.

The shot turned out fairly well on its own anyway.

I did these in what is left of an abandoned glass factory (only the basement remains and I have posted shots from there in the past). This time it was interesting though lol. A production company was filming a movie in the area and was using the cement area that was the factory floor as a staging area and parking. I got a chuckle out of the idea that I was spinning right underneath these people and they had no idea.

I have been really enjoying playing with light painting and have even been considering some light painting "tips and tricks" videos. If that is something you would be interested in seeing, please let me know!
