Your Inclusion

in #poetry6 years ago

Bleed with me
we are both from a womb
bred by strong women
who broke their bones
trying to bring us to this
eccentric world
to breath
to love
to free others.

Your veins
carry red like mine
I suppose
then propose
that humanity
remains within our sacred
midst and alive
in our flawed hearts
waiting to be shared
and spread
across races
to war-torn places.

The weight
your tongue carries
can demolish needy souls
if you don't watch what
words your lips let
out in the open
never to be
reclaimed
or taken back
from their
intended ears.

Curve a smile
on your random face
then once in a while
try to help a stranger
do the same
likely it will encourage
them to continue
with the contagious
routine
and maybe
the world will
finally
start healing.

This my nephew Grandon. I have three nephews but he's the only one who would be mistaken for my son! Melanin prince :)

If you are doing arts, @eye4art started putting deserving artists on a spotlight yesterday. Check them out :)

Thank you for coming.
