The Beauty of Yoruba Scarification - (Abstract Painting).
Good Day Fellas,
Following the sketch I shared earlier, I said I was going to talk more on the content when I am finally done with the painting and here I am.
The painting is a mixed midia work which means I didn't use only paints to achieve the work. I also use made use of fabrics in adding more values and drama to the artwork.
The work talks about the act and the beauty of Scarification on human faces in Yorubaland of Nigeria. The Yoruba people have this culture of putting tribal marks on the faces of their children to beautify their faces and also to make it easy for people to identify their source just by seeing their faces.
