Hey everyone ! Welcome to my new series on gesture drawing .
Ill aim to post every other day with this .

Why Gesture Drawing ?

For this post I did a quick pose challenge on gesture drawing . You can find the challenge here: Challenge

Gesture drawing is important to artists as it allows us to understand forms and shapes of the human anatomy. With daily practice your gesture figures will greatly improve and your skills will improve as you gain a greater understanding of observing key features/characteristics of a figure when drawing.

The quick pose challenge involves a showing of a set number of pictures of subjects in various positions with varying times to sketch the picture before it changes.(I believe its a 90 seconds) hence it will force you to choose the lines and shapes that will make your gesture drawing similar to the subject.

In the future posts I will DEFINITELY Go more in depth in to how to interpret your subjects when drawing em so you understand how to visualize and sketch better. Thanks for watching.
