Now everyone in the United Kingdom has heard of Dunkirk. For that matter I doubt many haven't worldwide.
But do the youth really know!

Come to think of it, I'm a young gent in my 30's. Although I have heard of Dunkirk, I have to say

" I don't know what happened or what it was about".

Within but 6 short minutes. I find that all I thought Dunkirk was about, differs radically!

Call it an information age. Or a simple! (Being the operative word) Overload of useless information. I find myself at a loss for words.

Now, I am not ashamed to acknowledge. That even though I consider myself, quite intelligent. I had no idea as to where or why Dunkirk was of great importance.

Have this be known, I was in for a rough ride.

I thought, Dunkirk had something to do with Ireland. Well it sounds Irish. The truth couldn't be further from my thoughts.

Dunkirk The film Written and directed by Christopher Nolan, A film about the disparity between countries. 2 ideals set at war. Men caught in the crossfire and the terrible atrocities which these unacceptable truths declare upon them. For they fight from either side for the ideal of dictators. From both angles they are pinned in a like less battle, without care for them.

"Turning man against his brother, until man exists no more".

I now sit down to watch, that which is to unfold. Before my eyes, An soon to be, yours.

I'll take you on a Journey. A place where you will truly know the facts of Dunkirk.
Feel the facts and be left with a bitter taste in your mouth.
Bitter from shear realism.

Now the first few moments, of a profound opening begin to emerge. Shots are fired and wording becomes the enlightening, upon the screen. Several young men make there way hastily on foot through streets.
One in particular, lives the atrocities of war.
While others fall in his wake. To gun fire and bullets.

Several gates and fences bring him to an open battle line. A battle line full of foreign allied forces. Sprinting with the end in sight he then confronted with thousands upon thousands of men upon a beach of blood. All of whom are waiting while being picked away by vultures of steel and fire.

Quickly enabled, with the realization.I profess, "Dunkirk is set in world war 2".

The allies are trapped and pushed back to the shore.
Leaflets which fall from the sky.
Strike fear in to them.
Them that fight to defend freedoms.
You, men! On unknown streets.

Edge of the seat an eyes agape. They are mesmerized. By a young fellow, he takes your stare. While you watch and wait on his every action. Within mere moments the scenes are filled with fear, tension and a abrupt willing to flea from the scene. To another land.

An observer am I. So you will be too.
An Innocent observer, with no knowledge of the reasons as to why?
Although all be explained within 20 minutes of this film.

Dunkirk situated in France. pinned many soldiers in sheer terror. Sitting ducks on a beach. The information comes striking back. That of a history lesson or a word. That of brief inclusion to a vivid past, for so many. To a privileged generation. Who have never had to fight.

Yet they did!

These in-depth, edge of the seat, momentous films. Keep us reeling from the actions of a past.
Not forgotten, and ever to near to bare.

While all is well, an a film is for entertainment.
Dunkirk is purely educational!
A film of remembrance.

With sinking vessels, dog fights and the cold harsh reality of 400,000 men on a beach fighting for survival. Comes the travesty of war.

You'll need a strong stomach, and a mind to handle, the process. Not for blood guts and gore, of the Hollywood action movie goer scene. But the portrayal of truth and its darkest of soul.

Evidently war takes.

Man fights man. For the endless pursuit of what?

Although while watching this difficult acceptance, celluloid of harsh truths. We find that Poseidon and the sea, takes many a victim. As the waters break and with the greatest of ease they take life. Ambiance like death, shudders.

Liquid, inclusion. Once full of life, the sea claims what is hers. No malice, completely without bias or care.
We find the sea is, the ultimate power, in this war. We are but mere pawns in the playground of the gods.

A film to seek out a generational gap

Obscured vision and a lost history. Fulfilled with breathtaking accuracy and the utmost coalition.
To create the bridge between 2 times, as they settle within 100 minutes of life.

Once you where but a mere bistander. Visually impared.
Once you where a innocent fool, a learnered decree.
Once you where the cold of the night and the dark of the sea.
But now you are free and complete.

The film is a masterpiece! For all whom think of our past and wish to embrace it, with open arms.
We are the few, to become the many. A true thinking mans film. A spectacular feat.
