Why are some people so obsessed with power and money?

Because the two different things namely the power and money have something in common and most of the time coincides with each other.

People get greedy to pile up more treasures and gold because it gives them the power to do more in life. It gives them more privilege to enjoy authority at greater heights. They want to have the security they needed, to be fully secured against opposition, to gain fame and glorious praises from ordinary people, to get ahead of the society and to control everything with the use of money and authority. You see, these people are not obsessed to be honest, they are insecure of what a life they may have in the near future.
