PewCrypt ransomware blocks your PC until Pewdiepie reaches 100 million subscribers
Yes, someone really made a virus that encrypts data in your computer until Pewdiepie reaches 100 million subscribers!
Although this whole fact is hilarious, it may imply dangerous consequences. In fact it has already infected some users, even if the modalities are unknown.
Luckily, the source code was published on GitHub. Moreover, the author admitted in one of his tweets that he created the virus while learning Java, and he also provided a decryption tool. Another decrypter was created by Emsisoft (link here).
Actually, it was not the first that someone creates a virus related to the subscriber war Pewdiepie vs T-Series.
In fact, PewCrypt followed the "PewDiePie ransomware", which was released in December last year.
