What Really Killed Otto Warmbier?
It must come as no surprise that his tragic death came so soon. What's the Hermit Kingdom hiding from us?
In what at first glance seemed like a successfully negotiated release, Warmbier was in fact medically evacuated from his captor country in a state of “unconscious wakefulness,” or another form of being in a vegetative state. North Korean officials state that he had contracted botulism soon after his trial and fell into a coma after being administered a sleeping pill. But further investigation shows no signs of contracting botulism. In fact, there were not even any signs indicating torture or abuse.
Amid pressures from the U.S. government to release Warmbier—along with growing U.S.-North Korean tensions due to the U.S.'s mobilization in the Asian-Pacific—one may conclude that Warmbier's early liberation was a quick attempt by the North Korean government to “wash their hands clean” of any grave effects of their judicial ruling in what seemed like a release of their “responsibility”.
North Korea claims that Warmbier was in a coma for almost the entire one-and-a-half years of his captivity, but official reports reveal that he fell into a coma just a week before his return to the States. Furthermore, expert neurologist Daniel Kanter states that Warmbier had suffered extensive loss of brain tissue throughout several areas of his brain due to cardiopulmonary arrest; in essence, his brain was deprived of oxygen. As far as the exact cause of this oxygen deprivation, one theory states that he was overly medicated to the point of irreversible brain damage, while another cites traumatic injury as the main suspect.
In a show of empathy, U.S. President Donald Trump has expressed ongoing concerns over the student's condition; consistently pressing for his release and personally contacting Fred Warmbier (Otto's father) for updates on his son. He even issued a statement to the press, stating, "There is nothing more tragic for a parent than to lose a child in the prime of life. Our thoughts and prayers are with Otto's family and friends, and all who loved him."
Will we ever find out the truth? Only time will tell..
Really hard to believe the news lately. Otto died in the US not in North Korea
I agree! I stopped believing everything they tell us.. It's sad that you need to decide yourself nowadays, what to believe and what not..
Yes we need to do our own research. I stopped believing the media after they said nothing wrong with Bear Sterns, and then Bear collapsed
The whole story doesn't add up. I think it is all BS. If Warmbier is dead, it is tragic, but I'm not even sure of that. The news said there will be no autopsy, so once again we will not know what really happened.
It's unbelievable how a sad story like this can turn into such a mysterious case.. and everyone gets left behind with unanswered questions! But I think that this case is not the only thing, they're not telling us!
You got that right!
thanks for the post
I best post I have read today on steemit is the following post .You should read it I promise it will be motivational

All for a poster on a wall. So sad.
Yes, it's really sad that a little act like this can change everything!
His "whiteness"... If Otto was colored or transgendered Obama would have put in more effort to get him back.
This is very sad. It's hard to believe wheather or not he was legitimately jailed for his thievery given that Korea doesn't like that U.S anyhow and that his case was only 2 hours to give 15 years of his life away. It seems that the coma was the cause of his death which was settled and caused in Korea. I can not stand Korea this is rediculous to begin with. I do believe Korea soon will be facing penalties for its actions not with just this, with much more (nuclular wise).
The thing to consider is that if this truly happened in North Korea (don't forget, they're 2 separate countries, thanks to the war) then the government would know without a reason of a doubt that penalties could follow. Since his family hasn't heard from him for a long time, it would be an easy thing for N-Korea to hide things like this and then wipe it under the rug and tell a story later that he died of either natural causes or that he was killed by an inmate or something. But they didn't, they sent him home stirring up things with the west. The mainstream media news channels are the worst for their news value, if they even have any.
Maybe they thought that american medicines can help. Of course, I do not know a lot about North Korea (and I am not that courageous to check what I know in real life Northern Korea), but I do believe they didn't even understand what's going on and decided to make last effort sending a boy to american doctors.
Interesting news, but what I am replying about is your amazing skill in writing and even formatting! It's beautiful.
Not to mention how ironic your name is ahah, thanks for sharing
Thank you for your kind words, I really appreciate it :)
:( Great article
Thank you! Sad story though...
Really sad :(
Even though I don't doubt that he really did die, the first thing that came to mind when I heard this was that it's a hoax. A way for the US and other governments to get a foot in the door in North Korea. They don't like Kim Jong-un, and he doesn't jump through hoops for them. So play the emotional card (a man died after being imprisoned in the country, so human right people will be all over this) and find a few more reasons to bomb the place. Just like they've done with so many others...

Wow that's a really eye-opening theory, I'll be sure to check it out further!
