Amazon just bought three crypto domains - Why?
Amazon just bought three domain names related to cryptocurrency.
Amazon registered three new cryptocurrency-related domains:
amazonethereum.com
amazoncryptocurrency.com
amazoncryptocurrencies.com
Amazon already owed the "amazonbitcoin.com" domain name.

Hopefully just in time for the holiday shopping. Great sign. Did they have one for bitcoin before? It could be a defensive move for the future to avoid others buying them and trying to sell them if it's not an infringement on their company name.
Interesting that they have a purely "cryptocurrency" and "cryptocurrencies" domains. It seems that maybe they're thinking of more than just using crypto to buy goods? Who knows. But a positive sign for the space when such a big player like Amazon is getting involved!
I would not draw conclusions. We don’t know where this space could go, so better have some domains available in case you suddenly decide to do something.
Hi @swissclive. I agree. No conclusions can yet be drawn. Amazon has a lot of incentives to utilize blockchain technologies and it doesn't hurt to spend $8/year on a few domains as a defensive measure... Much easier than going through litigation to get names back such as the person who is squatting on Wholefoodscoin.com. I'm now following you and I give you a 17% upvote on your comment to match your upvote on my post. :-) Hope you come back and, if you're feeling daring, maybe even give me at 100% upvote just for fun! Cheers @ thoughtchain
Because they are getting in on the Bandwagon
That's actually pretty interesting :-)
