Instead of spending money on floor heating, why not go somewhere warm for the winter?

I've been thinking: wouldn't it be better to spend the money I use for floor heating on living in a warm place instead? Coming back to my hometown, Changshu, a Jiangnan ancient city, from the 28°C summer in Chiang Mai, Thailand, I can really feel the difference.

Although the temperature here hasn’t dropped below zero yet, hovering between 1°C and 8°C, the cold feels much worse than in Northeast China or Xinjiang. The cold in Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Shanghai is the kind that seeps into your bones—damp and piercing.
In contrast, the cold up north is dry and much more bearable. Besides, northern winters have centralized heating, with indoor temperatures above 24°C, and there’s barely any need for outdoor activities—it's quite comfortable. I've turned on the floor heating in my house, which we installed ourselves and runs on natural gas. However, due to the high gas consumption, we're already at the highest tiered pricing.
Heating costs for the three winter months exceed 10,000 yuan, averaging 3,000–4,000 yuan per month. With that budget, I could rent a small place in warmer areas like Dali, Kunming, or Xishuangbanna in Yunnan for three months. Alternatively, I could long-term rent a hotel room and not even have to clean up.
What do you think? Have you ever considered this?
