Holocaust Survivor Rebuffs so called 'American Concentration Camps'

David Tuck is a Polish Jew who survived the Holocaust, IBM tattoo and all. In this video, he speaks out against the notion that America is running concentration camps. In 1939 he was forced by the Nazis into a ghetto where he spent five years of his life as he was rotated through various facilities.

David was stripped of his identity and dignity when he was assigned the #141631 and treated like livestock. His family was one of eighteen Jewish families from his hometown. Stealing was rampant in the camps because everyone yearned to survive, food was scarce. Simple things like waking up the next morning became an uncertain prospect.

Mr. Tuck explains that at one point the amount of dead in the camp outnumbered those who were still living. When he heard the rumors that the camp was to be liberated by Americans, he did not believe it to be true.

David makes clear his disgust when people compare detention shelters which are designed to house illegal aliens, with concentration camps, and the fact that some people will flagrantly bandy about the term Nazi sickens him.

Mr. Tuck stresses the fact that Americans shouldn’t be taking freedom for granted, and that there is no country freer. He indicates that if people want to migrate to America, they ought to do so lawfully and by means of the proper channels.

Finally, he stresses if you don’t like the President, that after four years you've got the option to make a change via the ballot box. His advice is that people should live good lives and accept that America is the best country. He thinks those who don’t accept this, should leave of their own volition.

I thought his story was interesting to learn about and towards the end, I couldn’t help but think that all these Social Justice Warriors who love the word Nazi and concentration camp. Well, are they culturally appropriating unique traumas that only a few groups had to endure during Hitler’s reign?

Here’s a list of groups that Hitler targeted and persecuted: Gypsies, political dissidents, the disabled, Soviet POWs, Poles, Jehovah’s Witnesses, black Germans, and Gay people. That does not mean that people alive today who fall into those groups were victims of Hitler unless they are WWII survivors and experienced these abuses first hand.
