The Life and Times of An Imperfect Prefectionist

Here's an image of mine that I have always come back to as I've progressed as a photographer. This one wasn't actually an intentional shutter click, but it's one of the only ones I ever kept from this shoot. I've edited and re-edited it countless times as I've gotten further and further into the photography world.

But it'll never be perfect in my eyes. I think as an anxiety-ridden creative, I have a perfectionist attitude so when something isn't exactly the way I planned, it's a feeling of doom filled failure. However, I still really love this shot, as it actually made me love photography in a new way. I was merely testing out portrait photography for the first time after scrolling through ideas for weeks leading up to this shoot.

This shot was actually a test shot for composition (which I knew nothing about back then) while the model/ballet dancer stretched. So it's pretty Raw but I love it. I also hate parts of it, which is why I never printed it as my 'best shot' which I don't think I've taken yet. This shot I've wanted to recreate so many times in a better light, better angle and a cleaner image overall, but there's a part of me that doesn't think I'd be able to pull off the perfect shot next time around.

I'm going to start posting a photograph per day, with my thoughts on them, and I'd love to hear yours. Do you have a best shot as a photographer? I have never printed a single one of my images because I can always see a flaw, yet in other peoples work, I wish I could have prints all over my house. I think a print exchange would be an amazing idea here on Steemit, but of course I would need the interest from my fellow photographers to get that ball rolling.
