How To Make Your Steemit Posts Count

MAKING THE MOST OF YOUR FIRST POST

Lets be honest, the strangely lucrative cash cow that is the introduceyourself tag can be a tricky business and its quite interesting. This article is just a few observations that I've made from looking at successful and popular posts. My first article didn't make waves like I wanted it to, thats why I've put together some tips that I've formulated over the last few days since I started on Steemit.

Hope this helps, I think it would have benefited me in the beginning :)

JUST DO IT

Just start writing! Tell other Steemers about yourself and your experience in the cryptocurrency world or lack thereof. Let them know of your first impressions of Steemit, most of us are learning and testing the water at the moment so its good to have heaps of open dialogue about it.

Lots of members find success when posting about Steemit.

As I did with this post:
https://steemit.com/introduceyourself/@timd/my-first-24-hours-on-steemit

But by all means talk about whatever interests you whether it be animals, holidays, sports, music, art or photography, there's so many different topics to be filled out on Steemit. If you have a story you want to tell you should tell it, honesty and transparency definitely go a long way with other members. You can tell us what you want from this and where you can see yourself fitting in. Please keep in mind that other topics will become more popular over time and it is worth investing your efforts into other articles related to your interests, as I am doing.

But most importantly, be yourself.

USE BOLD & ITALICS

Using bold for headings and to accentuate certain parts of your post is a great idea, italics can help to highlight the pieces you think are important as well.

To use italics

Type * on both sides of the word/s when you want italics.

To use bold

Type ** on both sides of the word/s you want make bold.

USE PICTURES

At first I had absolutely no fucking idea how to put pictures into my articles, it almost seemed daunting. It soon became the easiest of things and an imperative part of making my posts. There are several websites that are popular for aiding this, first you need to make sure your picture is saved.

Next go to any of the following sites:
https://postimage.org
https://picload.org
http://imgur.com
http://tinypic.com/

Upload your picture and copy the direct link, all you have to do now is paste the link into your post.

LASTLY, POST A PICTURE OF YOURSELF

It lets people know you're human :)

PEACE

P.S. If you want to find out how to turn your Steem Dollars into Bitcoin check out my other article:
