Ontology

Ontology is a philosophical study of the nature of being or reality. Also, as the basis of the categories of existence and their relationship. Ontology traditionally regarded as part of major branches of philosophy that is "metaphysics", Often, with questions like what is there or may be said to exist and how such objects are possible categorized in a hierarchy and divided according to their similarities and differences. Although ontology is highly hypothetical as a philosophical matter, It also has applications in the field of information technology and technology such as ontological engineering. A very simple definition of ontology is to see what the word "thing" means in context, what's the meaning of?

Parmenides was among the first to offer the ontological description of the nature of reality.

Some philosophers, especially from the Platonic school, they claim that all nouns (including abstract names) point to existing objects. Other philosophers claim that nouns do not always name things, but some of them provide a sort of abbreviation for referring to collections of objects or events.In the second view, the mind, instead of referring to an object, refers to a set of mental events that will be experienced by an individual .Society refers to collections of objects with some common characteristics and geometry refers to a set of specific types of intellectual activity. Between these poles is a realistic and nominal form of a variety of other positions. An ontology may provide an explanation of what words are referring to beings and what words they do not say and what kind of categories will result.

Some fundamental questions:

1. What can we say that there?
2. What is the object?
3. In what categories can we arrange existing objects?
4. What are the meanings of existence?
5. What are the different modes of being objects?

Several philosophers have provided answers to these questions.
