Traveling in Parksong (Laos): best experience staying in a Hotel on God mountain, visitting Strawberry farm in Champasack Province.
Hello Steemian, how are you? i Hope you have a good weekend.
My Family and i are now on vacation in Champasack province that is a province in southwestern of Laos. Now we are in Parksong district that is located at the Bolaven Plateau and is well known for its best coffee growing of the contry.
We stay at the Hotel Phu Thevada. That mean God of moutain in English. The hotel is just out of the center of Paksong and build on top of a hill with the 1300 metre high above sea Level.
The hotel is a half wooden house with a wide open floor surrounded by woods and beautifully decorated flower gardens and Angel statues. There are also many lovely sitting points to enjoy the view and chilling out. We've taken alot photos and had a fun time
The hotel located in the area of the old volcano that is already extinguished so the weather is cool all the year.
These fotos was taken from the window this morning which show a delightful nature. The area arround the hotel covered with fog with the tempeture -13 celcious. The atmosphere was just fine but very cold and couldn't see the sun i finally went out and enjoy this beautifully landscape, i think i'll let you participate in pictures.
we stayed in this Hotel for two nights. The price is comfortable to pay, rooms in the hotel are around 500.000 kip (62,5$), but there are nice rooms build on the back side from the hotel and they are around 125.000 kip (31,25$)per room per night included breakfast.
By the side of the hotel there is restaurant. They serve Laos, Thai, Indian and western food. The service takes some time to have a waitress to take an order and the food takes 25 minutes to be served in the busy time, but western or fast food will be faster, the staff are friendly, can speak lao thai and chinese
The restaurant taking place in the open air with a pleasant nature serrounded. I walked around the restaurant looking at products that made from coffee such as coffee soap and freshly coffee bag pakages that is sold directly from the factory which has been guaranteed quality from the Dao coffee factory which is known as the famous coffee brand of Lao. While walking and observing arround the restaurant the advertising stand at the corner caught my eyes, it annouced that far away from here about 55 kilometre there's Yamamoto strawberry farm where they're now giving an specail offering that is Strawberry buffet i was very interested and talked to my family so we decided to go there in the morning.
After breakfast we left the hotel, drove the van down from the hill to the main street and head to Yamamoto farm. It took only 20 minutes of driving along the single lane road finally could see the sign of Yamamoto strawberry farm, we drove in to the alleyway and could see a large empty scale of the field on two both sides of the road, about 300 metre in front of us located a mini coffee shop.
As standing in front of the shop there was middle-age japanese woman welcome us friendly to go in, she served us a plate of strawberry she wanted us to taste before order she smile firmly about the quality of the taste.
The shop designed in japanese style. All the tables, chairs, walls and counter were made by wood giving the customer feeling like staying in japan. On the wall hanging different japanese garments called Yukata which the customer can rent 10.000 kips per person (1.25$) and taking fotos with arround the shop and strawberry farm. At the store'shelves selling products from japan and Laos such as tea, coffee, noodles, snacks etc.
From inquiring the shop's history from the waiter the shop belongs to Mr Yamamoto who is from japan. He came to Pakse and found that this beautiful land is suitable for strawberry planting and decided doing business concessions for 5 years.
The farm is 5 hectare widths which is full with riped strawberry. Specially at the moment they're giving the customer a promotion strawberry buffet. It costs 70.000 kips (8.75$) per person, per hour that you can enjoy eating strawberry in the farm as many as you can. We decided not to get the promotion because it's 7 people of us and it doesn't make sense to pay all just for only eatting strawberry so we just observing and taking fotos.
Fresh Strawberry are neatly packed in the box keeping in the freezer. It cost 70.000 kips per packet it was reasonable price so we bought them 2 packets. Additionally in the Yamamoto coffee shop has specail menu and drinks. The recommended japanese menu is Takoyaki which is made of a wheat flour in the shape of little round balls containing pieces of octopus and there're some of another tasty japanese food that will giving the customer surprise. Their menu look tasty but we're vetgetarian.😁
Furthermore there is the strawberry ice cream, strawberry and grace, strawberry smoothie and other coffee drinks menu that will serve you appriciately and happy with the service.
we took the table and seats near the counter and ordered ice cream with strawberry dressing
it tasted good with soft cream of mix chocolate ,they gave us free extra plate of strawberry dressing. The Strawberry ice-cream cost 20.000kip(2.5$) i think i worth it.😊
