Hi Steemians.

After the big drones in the last days I want to show you a very small system: the Rodeo 110 by Walkera – made for indoor drone racing.

With the ever increasing popularity of drone racing, users are demanding faster, more agile and smaller drones, to help them compete on the tighter more skillful courses indoors and outdoors. But does smaller mean less power, speed and ultimately less fun? Definitely not the case with the Walkera Rodeo 110. I tested it and the highspeed and agility is very high – especially for a ready-to-fly set which includes everything to gat a good start. The only thing you have to purchase: the batteries for the remote control.

The Rodeo 110 follows Walkeras Rodeo 150, but with some important changes to improve the overall experience. The most obvious change is given away by its new name the Rodeo 110 has a smaller 110 mm diameter motor, down from 150 mm. This makes the drone overall more compact, but means that smaller props are used. At only 101 g without the battery and 147g with the battery, the Rodeo 110 is a very lightweight drone. It is such a lightweight that it is not neccassary in Germany to badge it with the information of the pilot. This German rule applies to drones from 250 grams.

Despite the Rodeo's diminutive size it is fully equipped machine, featuring powerful brushless motors, all carbon fiber frame construction, LED spot light for night flying, 600TVL camera and a 5.8 Ghz video transmitter, making the Rodeo 110 ready to race straight out of the box. The drone comes with a F3 flight controller. It is fully tuned out of the box, but can be adjusted allowing the pilot to tune the flight characteristics to suit their flying style. The 5.8 GHz video transmitter features 40 channels with race bands, so you can bind to any video receiver.

It is very easy to prepare the Rodeo 110 for the first start. Load the flight battery, read the manual and start. That’s it. It is possible to fly the Rodeo 110 extreme fast as well as controllable an slow. The flight time: round about 5 minutes. The complete set is available for round about 150 US-Dollar.
