Can Reddit survive while Steemit.com is there?

Steemit is another TSU, it wont last. Only a handful of Steemit users actually earn anything. If it sounds to good to be true, it probably is. People are flocking there right now in hopes of making a fast buck, but very few earn much of anything. For every post that earns $5.00, there’s 3,000 more posts than earn 5 cents or less. Just look at the profiles. When you first enter the site, they make it appear as if it were a gold mine by throwing the top earning posts in your face. Notice there isnt many of them, just what’s shown on the front page. Scroll down and everyone’s earnings drop to nothing. To make matters worse, the platform can’t seem to explain how and where it earns it revenue, other than investments in Steem currency, which is essentially gambling. They have no viable revenue model, and the money they paid out so far came directly from investors. Their money is running out.

I can see where the author is coming from. On reddit people are looking for karma sure or possibly are even being payed to influence the discussion but on steemit people are literally begging for money with every post or comment, upvote even. When I look at a lot of peoples post history its just sad the volume of mostly decently interesting/well crafted posts with little to no monetary reward and usually no comments.

I prefer the way reddit organizes people into categories based on interests. The tags are helpful but its not the same feeling as a subreddit where you get inside jokes and a feeling of community. Just my opinion though no need to worry if you like it here, I do plan to continue visiting steem here and there.

To me seams that steem adoption will depend if some big stars start to use it, soccer players, singers, actors etc.
If they do the potencial is huge because then companies will buy steem power to make their voices heard.
