Remember the fourth commandment: rest on the seventh day, on Saturday. Spend this day with your family and loved ones. Take the time to appreciate the splendor that is our world, its creation.

But the seventh day is rest for the Lord thy God; do not do in him any work, thou, neither thy son, nor thy daughter, nor thy servant, nor thy servant, nor thy beast, nor thy stranger which is within thy gates.

The Sabbath was blessed by the Lord, in the time of the ancient testament was the Sabbath but from the death and resurrection of Jesus the apostles began to meet on Sundays in honor of the day of the resurrection, subsequently the Roman calendar changed the position of the days of the week leaving Sunday as the seventh.

With this background and giving it due importance is a sign of reverence to the Lord who today keep the Sabbath day, dedicating it to him in worship and praise.

This does not mean that the only day for the Lord is Sunday, every day we must surrender to his presence and show him respect and reverence.

Today, the time of prayer and thanksgiving is seen as an integral part of the relationship with God that we incorporate into Sunday service.
