Oct. 5, 2024: NASA confirms an asteroid whose proximity puts Earth on alert.

NASA some years ago made a list of possible collisions of other stars with the earth and in this 2024 we find an asteroid that has been classified as a potentially dangerous object whose proximity to the earth will be on October 5. This asteroid was discovered about 16 years ago and NASA scientists have followed its path, as well as that of others that endanger our planet.

The asteroid was named 2007 FT3 with an extension of more than 300 meters in diameter and a risk of explosion by collision equivalent to about 2,600 tons of TNT, which we trust will not happen. According to the report of NASA's Sentinel program this asteroid has only been seen 14 times, which places it as a lost asteroid, however, on the occasions when it has been seen its proximity to the earth generated an alarm that makes it a potentially dangerous object or threat.
The asteroid was already a threat in 2019 and deviated its course, so NASA asks everyone who reads its publications to be calm, if there is any major risk they will be reporting the situation. What we have for sure is that this year 2024 is a year with interesting astronomical phenomena, so we should not neglect our sight and from time to time raise our eyes to the universe.
